It was my first time in that area since maybe, 25 years ago, so I decided to try this place out. Back in the old days, Henri Bourassa street had some very decent Asian restaurants, that have now been long gone.
I ordered a Combo for 2. (Takeout) Usually, at normal Chinese restaurants like Fu-Lam, you get 4 Egg Rolls, 2 for each person. They only gave 1 for each person, a bit oily, but good. Next was the fried rice that tasted old and mushy, with somekind of a scent, sorry, I had to throw it out.
The Beef and Broccoli was good. The Chicken Chop suey was good also. The General Tao Chicken was very mushy and didn't taste fresh. And the Wonton soup was very average, with no fried noodles on the side.
To the owner of this restaurant here's what you have to do. Your fried rice, you need to buy a better quality of rice that's not scented, and cooked mushy. I guess the mushy rice comes from the white rice that has been in the cooker, for who knows how long. Rice from the previous day should be thrown out.
Any Combo meal for 2 or more, each person should get 2 eggrolls each. Your General Tao Chicken should be in larger takeout dish, instead of squishing it into a small container.
If you continue to cut corner's and cook Chinese food the wrong way, you'll continue to get negative reviews, and you will lose customers.
You only have 3 1/2 stars on Google reviews. Wake-up and smell the coffee....
Read moreI’ve grown really fond of this place. It may not be perfect and has had small mistakes like dish confusion, but honestly, I don’t mind. The restaurant is owned by a couple of hardworking Asian elders who are truly dedicated to offering great service, regardless of their age.
Sure, there might be fancier Chinese places, but the food here has a comforting, homemade feel. And trust me, as someone who’s known Asian cuisine since childhood, I know what I’m talking about. Their menu offers a great variety of dishes that cater to all tastes. My top recommendations are the fried rice with chicken, vegetables with chicken, and, of course, the famous General Tao chicken.
I’ve ordered from here multiple times, both takeout and dine-in, and both experiences have been equally satisfying. However, I’m really disappointed in how the municipality has handled the area around Henri-Bourassa. The addition of the bike lane has made it nearly impossible to park nearby, hurting small businesses like this one. Dining in has become inconvenient for us, but thankfully, the takeout option is still...
Read moreThe only authentic faux (north American) Chinese food in the ahuntsic area. They have the classics, dry garlic spareribs, general tao, and chop shui. Really tasty and brings me back to my childhood. But the real secret is in the a la carte menu. There you will find the real gems such as the thai curries, Singapore noodles and pad thai. Special mention to their chicken wings. If you like it a little spicy, the Thai Chicken wings are the best I’ve had anywhere. But if spice is not your thing the regular is just as tasty and juicy. Fantastic with a fried rice and beer. Portions are generous giving great value for what I ordered. I’ve done take out and delivery, both very quick. I think the dining room is now open too. Can’t wait for my next order and my only regret is that I didn’t discover them earlier.
Sik Fan!...
