We arrived at this Tutti-Frutti at 10:20 AM. At 10:30 AM we have already been sipping our (very decent) coffee and our orders had been taken. All the action took place on a terrasse, naturally, and it was full. I'd say 10 people including the two of us. 45 minutes later - at 11:15 AM, we've got our food. I ordered two eggs, fries and bacon, and my son - eggs benedict. My fries tasted of stale oil. I got white toasts instead of brown. Had to ask twice to replace. Replace the toasts, not the fries - I doubt they'd bring me anything better. My son on the other hand, found his food quite adequate. He had no fries though. Once we've finished our breakfast at 11:40, we've asked for a single bill and in 15 minutes we've got two separate bills. We've asked for a single bill again and this time only in 10 minutes, it finally arrived. I've given 10% tip. Now, I always wonder in situations like this - is that something that I've done wrong to call this upon myself? Maybe it's because I am not nice enough? Maybe it's because I don't speak much French, so the first thing I did, when the waitress came to our table, was to ask her - if she spoke any English? To which she replied negatively. But then, I know, that I am not the nicest guy around, I have bad teeth, my smile is not pretty, and I have Russian accent. So I delegated the PR to my son. He speaks perfect Quebecois French, he is very nice, positive and has impeccable teeth. So his smiles are rather charming. Still, all that waiting had happened. Since we've been in this Tutti-Frutti for almost two hours, we could see, that not everybody is treated the same way. Some people would get served in under 20 minutes - actually I've noticed three ladies who ordered the same thing with us - eggs benedict and your plane eggs and bacon, and got it 15 minutes after ordering. Well, they were definitely better looking than yours truly. Somebody, who managed to read this far will probably wonder, so why two stars? Why not one? Well... we are in the middle of this covid stupidity. I do understand all the struggles that places like Tutti-Frutti are going through. I do understand that this place is on the ground floor of a huge apartment building, so they probably have regulars who get served pronto. Too bad we weren't them. No big deal, we did have our food and very pleasant talk in a magnificent weather, and their coffee was totally acceptable - all my pickiness non-withstanding, but that was our last Tutti-Frutti experience. At least for that location it was. UPDATE: The owners have left a comment asking for more detail! LMAO! Good boys - one must always react to negative comment!...
Read moreI dont know where to start from. Even a 1 start they dont deserve it. I went this morning for breakfast. I placed me order, it took about 25 mins to get my jardinier omellette with cheese (tthere were only 3 customers and they were served already). That's fine i was still patient. My order came and my bread wasnt there. So i waited 10 mins for the bread. So i decided to start eating by the time as it would get cold. To put the first bite in my mouth i found ham in my omellette?!?!??! I told the waiter 1- its a vegetarien omellette not suppose to have ham 2- am muslim and it traumatised me!!!! Cause i never had ham pork or whatever
Anyways he apologised and said he will get me another jardinier. Another 20 mins of wait my plate came but was another omellette( spinach feta i think) and no cheese.
I wasted about 50 mins there having only 2 cups of coffee. I got frustratred and left.
Seriously like i dont know who was the cook in the back but if they dont know there job please get someone who will do it better. I went 2 times there and no more!! Go to any other tutti fruitty...
Read moreNice spot to have breakfast, brunch or just to grab a cup of coffee. The place is decently decorated and clean, has enough room to accomodate a decent number of people (I'd guess around 80 to 100 people) and is relatively easy to access since it's near the A40 and the A25, next to Galeries d'Anjou. My wife and I usually visit this place for the "lève-tôt" menu on week days. The wrap déjeuner is what we usually take and so far we have been satisfied with the consistency of the quality and the portions as well. Nice portions for an early bird menu and the food tastes good. The waitress Sylvie is a 6 stars out of 5. Even though we may go once or twice a month, she remembers us and also what we tend to gravitate towards. She's spectacular and have only good things to say about the staff and the food itself...
