I visited Combat Laser Tag for my birthday, excited by the website’s promotional video, which showcased an indoor arena full of action. Unfortunately, the reality didn’t quite match up. The actual arena was located in a cold, drafty barn, especially noticeable during winter. While the environment itself had cool features—plenty of hiding spots and obstacles to climb on—it didn’t quite live up to the expectations set by the online content.
One of the more frustrating issues was the lack of clear boundaries in the game. While this wasn't necessarily the company’s fault, the lack of obvious markers or signs indicating out-of-bounds areas led to some frustrating experiences. I found myself getting shot by players who had taken advantage of these unclear zones, hiding behind walls where they were technically not supposed to be. It disrupted the flow of the game and made it feel unfair at times.
Another downside was the lack of a respawn area. Once I was shot, I had to wait for my sensor to come back on, but often, the same person who shot me would follow me and shoot me again as soon as I was active again. It didn’t give me any time to retaliate, which made the game feel repetitive and discouraging. People would cover the sensors on their vests, making it impossible for me to shoot them during the game.
The equipment was another problem area. The guns required a cumbersome and finicky reload process—removing the magazine, flipping a small cover, pressing a tiny button (about the size of a grain of rice), closing it, and then putting the magazine back. This wasn’t just inconvenient but also made me feel like I was losing time during crucial moments in the game. On top of that, there were instances where shots didn’t register, even when I was directly aiming at opponents’ sensors on their shoulders and firing repeatedly. This left me frustrated and feeling like I wasn’t getting a fair shot at winning. Even though some of the issues were caused by the players rather than the company, it was still incredibly frustrating.
While the concept of Combat Laser Tag is promising, with fun elements like the arena setup, it fell short in terms of execution. There’s a lot of potential here, but the issues with equipment, rules clarity, and gameplay flow made it a frustrating experience. Unless the company addresses these concerns, I’m unlikely to return for another round. Unfortunately, I ended up leaving early due to sheer...
Read moreWe had a large group of ‘big’ and ‘littles’ and it was a such a great experience for all! The game space is large with many opportunities to hide and spread out. We played during the day, which allows for a bit more natural light (windows) in the game space to support the littles with comfort and navigation. (If your group is older, or does well in the dark, book during an evening time slot for more of a challenge/thrill!) Our hosts were fantastic with rules/gun operations, and they let us change up the groups and game style with ease for a great mix of entertainment! We highly recommend Combat laser—especially for those memorable family adventures! Thank you for providing our family with some fun and quality-filled...
Read moreThe whole experience exceeded our expectations. We booked a laser tag birthday party and everyone had an incredible time. Both the facilities and the service were mind-blowing. This experience is great for older children / teens and (maybe even more so!) for adults. Especially when they’re trying to keep up with the kids. I truly can’t remember the last time I had so much fun, and we’ve only received glowing feedback from our guests. Thank you for an unforgettable experience. We can’t wait to come back for our next party, and for...
