Game was constantly interrupted by the game master plus they charged us for damages that we didnāt cause.
We signed up for the City Morgue escape room. We enjoyed the overall puzzle of the room. However, our experience was unpleasant due to the fact that the game master was constantly coming into the room to guide us, and even flat out telling us the answers at times. Not sure if this is a flaw of the room design or if the game master just was impatient with us. He wasnāt the friendliest. At one point another staff member accidentally walked into the room not realizing we were in thereā¦.
To make things worse, there is a prop in the room which already had holes in it. Laying on top of this prop were 2 steel rods tied together. One of our players thought maybe one of the tasks was to insert these rods into the holes.
We managed to get out of the room. As soon as we got out we were told that we would be contacted to pay for damages made to the prop. They claimed we pierced the prop and created those holes. They charged my credit card without my consent. I tried disputing this with the staff and owner to no avail.
This isnāt the first time they accused guests of damages that were already there. Would hate for this to happen to other locals. Best to avoid this business so that you donāt get burned.
Update: Owner failed to provide proof that prop was not damaged before our game when asked. Owner claimed our player was doing a sawing motion on video tape but when I asked to see this video, I did not get a response. It became our word against his. For it to apparently happen 3 times in the past sounds like you should have adequate signage, or maybe remove the steel rods from the game? Sounds like a good way to get extra...

Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe did the library escape room.
I initially thought I had pulled into the wrong address as it was raining fairly heavily and I didn't see the sign for attration parking so I stopped in the hotel office to see where to park.
After getting to the area where the escape rooms are we watched the video and were off to our room.
I am giving 3 stars as the staff were very helpful and friendly but we did have some significant hiccups in our room.
You could hear the people in the room next door through the wall. Loudly. Not a big deal really.
We made it a bit and burned a clue but that was when we encountered our first hiccup in the a prop wasn't where it should have been so we got stuck even using a clue because the game master wasn't aware it was gone and just thought we hadn't seen it.
Fast forward a bit and we encountered a puzzle that we were doing correctly but it was not working so we had to have the game master come and help with that.
In the final area we were missing another prop that broke the room. We could not have finished because it was gone. We searched everywhere..the game master searched everywhere. The prop was gone. We were right at the end so it counted as an escape as we would have had plenty of time if only the prop was available.
Again the staff were great and the room was nicely themed. It was a bit dark and the flashlight given (part of a walkie used for calling for clues) was also fairly dim. They should probably invest in some led...
