If you are thinking about renting bikes in Niagara-on-the-lake, Tour de Vine is by far the best place to go! Based on my experience, there's quite a few factors that distinguish this business compared to the others:

The beautiful bikes: To start, the bikes are really unique, comfy and there's a huge selection (there's beautiful colours to pick from and they are European style which make for great photos)!

The wide range of tour selections: There's also a wide range of different tours that you can pick from (self-guided or guided by staff). I am a repeat customer and have done both self-guided tours and tours with a guide and both experiences are always exceptional. You also have the option of selecting shorter tours or longer tours with more stops integrated into your experience. No matter what you select, there's quite the range of top-notch wineries/breweries/cideries incorporated into self guided/staff guided tours. All of the packages are exceptional so you can't go wrong with any tour/package that you select although my favourite has to be the ultimate tour - it's a great deal and one that you will want to take advantage of!

The exceptional staff/customer service: The staff here is phenomenal. People always say that customer service doesn't existence anymore but Steve and his team are the reason that I still believe in solid customer service. They are professional, kind, caring and go above and beyond to make your experience memorable and enjoyable. They will even go to the wineries to pick up your wine for you if you purchase any so that you don't have to bring the bottles with you on your bike.

Overall, I highly recommend Tour de Vine - it's the best bike/wine tour company in Niagara-on-the-lake. I always have a great experience and will continue to support...

We did the ultimate self guided tour on a very nice summer day. We were greeted by Steve who helped us select our bikes and gave us a clear explanation of where we were going and what we'd be doing.

The bikes were very nice for touring around the country side, my only complaint would be the seat after ~20km it gets pretty uncomfortable.

As for the tour itself, the first winery was absolutely amazing. Great wine, great service and it was very informative.

The lunch was also very pleasant and refreshing.

At this point we honestly had already felt satisfied with our purchase.

The Brewery experience wasn't horrible but I must state that this is really only for people who truly enjoy artisanal beer. The beers are very unique and aren't for everyone.

The Cider tasting was closed on that day but we still got to visit the field and we were offered a tasting at a distillery right next to the tour de Vine launch to make up for it.

We then went to another winery which was pretty good, 3 wines to taste from and the abilitity to walk around their complex.

We then ended with a distillery. After a day of tasting I must say this one is the most intense. Similarly to the Brewery, these are very unique flavors and tastes and it might not be suited for everyone. I highly suggest ordering food or bringing something of your own for this tasting as it's very intense on the stomach.

Overall I still give this tour a 5 as the value for what I pay is very much worth it and the whole tour de Vine crew is very nice.

I would recommend...

We booked a tour on a Saturday in July. Check-in was super smooth: the staff was so kind and helpful! They provided us with a map (that also had a QR code where we could see the route on Gmaps) and the number we could text our primary contact. I'm not sure if he is always the main contact, but the person who we were texting that day was Steve. His customer service was excellent.

Things don't always go as planned, but how you handle it makes a big difference. We had booked a self-guided tour that began with a lunch, and for some reason this part was severely delayed. This was stressful because it was eating into our tour time and we had specific slots booked at each location. We texted Steve to let him know. He actually made his way over and directly handled our lunches, brought us our cocktails, and assured us that it was okay that we wouldn't be on schedule per the times planned. After eating and tasting the cocktails, we were a full two hours behind. These things happen. If you're stressed about timing, I would just recommend booking a tour without a lunch included and packing your own! Then you can eat and cycle at your leisure.

We were supposed to return our bikes by 5pm so they could close. Because of the time it took for each location, we ended up arriving after 6:30pm. Steve stayed behind for us and did not charge us extra for being late. He ensured we felt zero stress and did everything he could so that we could have a good time, and it was so appreciated. Thank you to Steve and the TDV team - we had...

My husband and I are so glad we chose this as an activity to celebrate our anniversary. We chose the Ultimate self directed bicycle tour. We are bikers, but even if you are not, the route was easy to follow. The QR code on the provided paper map populated the route on our phones as well which was great. We brought our own helmets. Each bike had a phone holder at the front and a rear basket for small purchases, we used the baskets to carry our water bottles. The staff adjusted the seats for us upon arrival and had us test the bikes out before leaving to check for proper height and readjusted them when needed. The bikes were in good condition and as shown in website photos. We went on a Tues, everything went smoothly, it wasn't busy being as it was a weekday. Lunch at Limited Distillery was delicious (neat vibe - records, music, etc). We loved the rum punch. The Cider house location was beautiful. The ciders were tasty especially as we typically do not drink cider. The last 2 stops were at wineries. We found wines we enjoyed at both. At each location, everyone was knowledgeable, personable and helpful. We paid for wine pick up and by the time we were back at Tour de Vine, our wine was waiting for us. We would definately recommend this experience! One tip - bring water and a few additional snacks to help balance out the wine/cider/etc tasting. Enjoy!

Self-guided tour was amazing. Staff were friendly, welcoming and informative. Walked us through the route and what to expect, as well as how to work the e-bikes. Route was fun to bike, able to take our time and enjoy the day. Would definitely do again as there are different combinations of wineries and stops

This unique one of a kind experience is something my wife and I will remember for our lifetime. From cycling to each vineyard while taking in the sights, testing the hidden gems of wines exclusive to each wine maker and getting to bring some bottles home with us to remember our time out there with every sip, I wish I could give 10 stars. Steve is an outstanding host, knowledgeable and made sure our route was clearly navigated for us and also made sure our bikes were the right fit for us. John was very helpful and informative about the history of the vineyards. We enjoyed it so much that we bought 2 bikes for ourselves to take home! Steve and John are very patient and kind in helping us pick and load our bikes, with troubleshooting and making sure we got the most out of our trip. These bikes are amazing and we cannot wait to show them off on our future cycling adventures. Thank you Steve and John so much. From Kirija and Riyaz. Proud to support this local business!
