Twisted Bar NOTL — Restaurant in Niagara-on-the-Lake

We were driving by this restaurant on a Sunday afternoon headed to a complete different restaurant and saw a bunch of signs related to specials being offered and being in the mood for some delicious Mexican we made a U-turn and went in

We arrive with approximately 4 other guests in the restaurant and were seated. About 12 minutes later a server took our drink order, two margaritas 😁. We asked about the specials they were advertising outside and were told they were restricted to certain days of the week or times of the day and none of them were available during our visit. Close to 10 minutes later the drinks arrived and we ordered nachos to start.

During this time the restaurant had begun to fill up with another 15-20 people.

30 minutes later after slowly nursing our drinks two of the tables that had come in after us were served food and we hadn't seen our server again.

At this point we were pretty frustrated that close to 50 minutes in and all we were able to experience was two pretty incredible margaritas.

Unfortunately we were out of time and tracked down our server up at the bar area and had to cancel the nachos to leave. We were told the nachos we now ready and we could take them to go but unfortunately we had a whole day ahead of us and couldn't have enjoyed them.

It's a shame as the place looks incredible and everyone seemed really friendly. I'm sure if we had been able to try the food we would...

Definitely the next Niagara hot spot! I’ve been following Twisted Bar on Instagram since they opened late last year and finally got the chance to check out their AYCE taco deal on Thursdays. Saying my expectations were exceeded is an understatement! Everything was fresh, delicious, and made with love. Definitely the best tacos I’ve had outside of Mexico (and even then Twisted Bar puts up fierce competition), everything was so flavourful and authentic.

This little spot is filled with unique artwork and decor that make up a colourful and dynamic atmosphere. Even on a Thursday this place was packed, so definitely make reservations. Despite the restaurant’s clear popularity, we still had an intimate meal that didn’t feel too noisy or rushed.

Everything was fantastic, we had the: chips and salsa flight (the avocado salsa was fantastic) Birria tacos Asada tacos Calamari tacos Carnitas tacos Sour Berry Jam cocktail Churros And a carrot cake birthday dessert all of which were phenomenal and I have already highly recommended to friends and family.

Will definitely be back asap as I’m already craving more of what Twisted Bar...

Really excellent service from Andre. He was very kind and accommodating and made good suggestions. The food was good, especially the complementary chips and salsa. I would recommend also getting some guacamole to eat with the chips. The chips are homemade, hand-cut tortillas—very authentic, exactly the way it should be. Margaritas were great. The bowls were very good. Tacos were good, Cauliflower one was nice, good toppings, but the cauliflower itself could use some seasoning and marinating before frying. The birria one needed more flavour and sauce.

We were celebrating my mom’s birthday and Andre and the Team surprised us with a carrot cake, a sparkler and these Mexican hats. It was a really fun and nice experience. We really appreciated the team for doing that and the cake was really good.

Prices were very reasonable, especially if you come during the lunch special. The venue was nice decorated nicely. The time it took to prepare the food was also pretty quick. The only downside was it wasn’t very clean and there were house flies everywhere that were just bombarding you while you’re trying...
