Honestly this is an okay mall I grew up around this area since 2001 and have watched this mall grow, improve, and slowly die.
To be honest here this isn't really like a fancy mall like Southgate or West Edmonton Mall and honestly I hated that as I visit this mall alot I noticed how much I'm resonating less with this mall now and I just feel like it just dying or feel soulless now with so many vacancy in the mall it doesn't make the mall charming or appealing at all.
I really desire this mall to have a Sephora, Lush Cosmetics, Roots, Sage Wellness, Uniqlo, Vans, Zara but we northsider suck and get treated as a peasant and the reason why northside get overlooked (sarcasm intended) lol like yes I appreciate shopping and support local business and such but this isn't a farmer market so stop making it one and bring in well-known chain retails ffs. đ
I literally don't gave a flying eff about entrepreneur business that much I'm sorry.
This mall was at the peak of it economy before COVID hit them and now half of the good stores have left them especially Omomo which is my favorite Japanese style dollar store I always get candies and drinks from there as well as ready to eat foods I can take home and add water! :)
Also I just wish Londonderry play music over the intercom loudly but not uncomfortably loud I hate how there barely any music played at the mall and when there is music played at the mall it pretty rare for it to happen and the music is so damn quiet it not fair that West Edmonton Mall always play music that I can dance to and make me shop until I drop like come on Londonderry if you wanna bring in more customers you has to make your mall vibrant for guests đ
I like having music played in the mall because it help me discover new music and see what songs to add to my spotify playlist lol.
All in all if I was to do any serious shopping I would just go to WEM, Southgate, or literally just shop online cause I'm literally too good for this mall in term of my shopping need lol.
Also the lack of coffee-shop at Londonderry is ridiculous only 2 options for coffee Tim Hortons (ew) and Cinnazeo (meh) why does Starbucks has to leave this mall? It not fair! đ
Atleast bring a Remedy Cafe inside Londonderry I would visit that place everyday and an ideal spot to put it would be where the former McDonald's used to be. I would die for an indian foods fares at Londonderry.
So all in all whoever is the manager at Londonderry need to resign lol she isn't doing much to bring in big well known retails to Londonderry like yes I get that you can't force retails to lease a space in the mall but like please enough with the stores that nobody know about and bring in popular well known chain store for my capitalist money lol I'm just jealous that other mall have better selection of stores than you guys and I wish you guys improve your marketing team for bringing in more retails that you guys think the demographic would like cause this mall just feel sad with the amount of vacancy in the mall and you guys have renovated in like what? 2014? And you still haven't worked hard enough to bring more retails to the mall. :(
So in conclusion Londonderry is an okay mall if you live in the area aside from that if you need serious shopping then explore other mall in Edmonton such as Southgate or WEM they have better store than this sad depressing mall we call Londonderry which is pretending to be like Southgate being renovated...
Read moreI was harassed by what I thought were mall security for whom I told I have an exemption and they didn't accept that answer so I put on a mask and walked away, about halfway up the escalator one shouted for me to come back. I said "I am wearing a mask can you please just leave me alone".
They followed me and immediately the female opened up a fine booklet and said that I was being fined $2400 for entering a mall without a mask (I am fully vaccinated and have only once walked into a business without a mask which was this mall on this day ).
They demanded ID and I asked for theirs as they still had not identified themselves. Finally I found out that they were Community Standards bylaw enforcement. To become one of these "peace officers" all you need is a high school education and a clean criminal record. They did not act like any type of Law Enforcement Officers or RCMP I have ever encountered. They refused to produce ID or a badge number.
They lowered the fine to $100 since I did put on a mask, the only reason they harassed me was because I questioned them, the male finally said that they were Edmonton City bylaw agents after me pressing for them to explain under what authority they had to fine me. As I did put on a mask once they first approached me.
The male was wearing a tiny surgery style mask and was regurgitating year old news talking points about droplets, which I told him that I am supposed to be able to see my GP to write a letter, they same GP I have spoke to twice throughout the pandemic on the phone and haven't been getting the normal treatment for my service related injuries from the 12 years I spent in the CF as an infantryman and Airborne NCO.
They acted like they were doing me a favor by only fining me $100 for the sin of walking 40 feet into a mall without a mask.
This has zero to do with health and science and is a money grab for the city of Edmonton. On July 1st when the Premier says no more mask let's all go to city hall and discard the non standardized face coverings into a giant pile.
I will never return to Londonderry mall as I can spend my money where I am not harassed by power tripping idiots.
I will be in court in September as I am going to fight this breech of my Charter Rights and Freedoms. Maybe someone with legal knowledge would like to represent me as this is not a financial matter but one of principle.
Arresting priests and former members of Parliament is where are country is at.
Authoritarian, draconian measures that have destroyed peoples lives, child suicide rates are up 400 % since the lockdown began, let's not mention the fact that the vast majority of deaths were old people who had an average of 2.6 co-morbid conditions which could have caused there deaths. Punish the healthy, don't allow them to even protest as it is against the provincial health act.
Non of our leaders at any level follow there own edicts yet disabled veterans get harassed by losers who could not make...
