Giant Tiger — Local services in Ontario

I have always liked Giant Tiger from when I lived back in Quebec and now here in Kingston. They always have a great variety of items and now they even have great fresh produce.

Now that was my review for the Giant Tiger on Princess Street where I always go and I wrote that about 2 years ago. Now all I can say is that it has gotten even better! When we were all surrounded with a pandemic going on (because I am writing this on June 15th, 2020) Tiger Giant handled it in all the ways a great store should! They took care of their employees and the public and besides all the Frontline workers we also owe Giant Tiger a great thanks not just in Kingston but across Canada as well. 👏 💗 Now getting back to the store I am so excited to tell everyone that they now have a wonderful meat selection. I bought their strip loin steak. They had it on special for 2 at $10 each or singles at $12 97. I have to shamelessly admit but I had my doubts about the quality of the meat. It said strip loin but I thought maybe it would be from the very end of the loin part, i.e. not very tender at all. I didn't have all of it. Just a quarter of it and the piece I had you could cut with a butter knife!!! Strip loin is one of the 4 Best cuts of meat so while many might think paying $10 was an indulgence but for myself 1 steak would easily make 2 meals. Now if you paired that with a can of GT's delicious canned vegetables (less than a dollar) + fresh portobello mushrooms that was on special two packages for $5 and each package comes with two Huge mushrooms, Theeeen add a bag of fresh tiny coloured potatoes and you would have a healthy meal with a delicious cut of meat for well under $10!!!! I know most people would probably want to eat the whole steak but remember portion sizes people. LOL. We tend to eat too much meat and as for myself I have been losing weight and I intend to keep it that way with Giant Tiger's help of course as the meal I described is exactly one I made for myself with just boiling the potatoes and grilling the steak and mushroom. Only thing I forgot was salad but next time. So with the great variety that GT now has you should stop in and see and see for yourself. Now I have not been to the one on Gardiners but I should go at least once just to compare...

I m not impressed with giant tigars management staff,l accidently misplaced my change purse in the clothing department,l didn't realize that the store was closing when l went there,and yet l ran up to the cash dropped the things l had in my hand and didn't have my change purse,ran outside looked on the path l took for two min,went back to the doorwithin two min. and asked the manager if l could just run in quickly to check for my change purse,she declined and they jotted down my name and phone number and said they would call me if they found it,?l was frantic all evening,my bankcard,drivers license ,health card,bus pass and library card were all in this change purse,,yet l knew l had lost it in the store,and l just needed one minute to go back in and look and it was a blant NO we are closed!!!The following morning my daughter went to giant Tiger to look for my change purse and found it exactly where l told her l think l dropped ITSO AS FAR AS IM CONCERNED,THE MANAGER SHOULD HAVE ALLOWED ME BACK IN THE STORE FOR A MIN AND l WOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO KEEP MY BIRTHDAY PLANS HOW RUDE AND UNCONCERNING OF THE MANGER,I go to this store all the time,Extremely Disappointed........,and yet Grateful my daughter found it for me!!! WOW,THANKS GIANT TIGER FOR GIVING ME A MOMENT TO GO BACK IN THE STORE TO LOOK FOR MY CHANGE PURSE WITH ALL OF MY IDENTIFATION IN IT AND MAKING CERTAIN THAT l Had A LOUSY EVENING ON MY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD LOOK FOR...

I like GTboutique . ...but the downtown store is not bike friendly which is my mode of transportation and many many others. Thousands actually. I have forgotten my lock on occasion or wasnt planning on going shopping but decided to grab dinner while out. The first couple times the door attendant was courteous and understanding when asked if I could leave it where the carts were for a quick trip in. No problem. Tonite aswell as the 2 times previous the same lady working there refused me. I told I only needed two items and I'm done. As it turns out I still had to push my bike thru the store to get out like the previous times With all the bikes stolen in this city myself have had 3 in the last 4 months. So far only Giant Tiger has refused me. It's a big bike town I think the policies should be looked at and come to an acceptable place between staff and valued customers. Thank...
