We enjoyed our experience at Improbable Escapes, we were a group of 4 and decided to book the Frankenstein room - overall it was a good time with lots of fun puzzles and interesting plot line. I only rated it 3 stars (since updated to 4 as the owner was very kind) as there were quite a few technical errors that impacted our experience, our TV (which is used throughout the booking as it plays important story information) continually popped up with the laptop display screen (the Window's finder folder) overtop of the story images/animations which meant we couldn't see one of them play. One of our group members had to exit the room 2-3 times to alert the staff member who came in and was very apologetic as it kept popping throughout the hour, she was able to reset it each time but it happened multiple times and did take away from the immersive experience of the room. There were also a few physical/mechanical things that weren't working properly including something on the wall that required force to move but our strongest member couldn't pry it with all their might into place (we tried multiple times and wasted time) it was only after we asked for a clue (which said to force the item into place) that it seemed as though the item/mechanical switch had been reset so it could be moved as we tried one more time and it moved easily into place. There was one more issue with a prop that came apart and needed to be re-set by the staff member meaning we couldn't solve that puzzle. Overall, the story was interesting and we still had fun, it was just a bit of a shame as you want to feel as though it's truly immersive and there were just so many times we had to leave the room for help and/or a staff member had to enter to...
Read moreI had exhausted the escape rooms over at their Downtown location so I was pleased to hear they opened a second location. I played the Neverland room and the Seven Dwarves room during my latest visit.
Overall I was happy. The Gamesmaster was very animated and lively and the rooms were of a good quality. The immersion was really good as I found the rooms to be well decorated and their props to be very appropriate for their themes. Both rooms also contained a lot of tech that pushed the puzzles above the basic combination lock solution.
It wasn't a full 5-star experience due to a few minor problems with the props. For example, a key didn't fall through a hole because it got stuck somewhere along the way. The Gamesmaster had to come in and unlock the door for us. And similar problems like that happened 2 or 3 more times during my experience.
I also found the difficulty to be a tad on the lower end for experienced players but I recognize they are in the minority.
All in all not a big deal and I'm looking forward to...
Read moreJust got home from an awesome little get away.
Went to visit our amazing YOUNG friends Emma and Melissa and their team who did an absolutely phenomenal job with Wonderland Escape Rooms & Board Game Lounge.
Everything was on point. Menu, all out decor in the cafe area, to party space, to hallways.
450 games to start and growing with awesome sign categories that also match theme. An amazing rating system and menu card. Food was on point and my oat milk cap was lights out.
Their 7 dwarves escape game was pretty awesome too.
We are proud of our escape room friends and over the cheshire smile for all that you've accomplished! Your Narcity article is nothing compared to what you will achieve.
