I can confidently say attempting to arrange a birthday party here is an absolute headache. It took me almost three weeks of phone calls and visits to the centre to actually recieve a phone call from a booking director. I was advised because of a home owners association meeting that weekend that the would not be able to offer me any birthday party packages. I understood and asked to book a room for a minimum of 20 people (kids and parents) and inquired if public swimming was available as i would be willing to purchase passes on top of the half day room rental. Was told I would be contacted back If that was an option. Never happened. I came in to pay for the booking and was told I couldn't make payment arrangements and was also told that they didnt know when they would accept payment, due to some new system. When I asked as to when they would accept payment I was told that they didnt know and to just keep calling. I dont have time for that! Luckily during that visit I was told at that visit (third time is a charm I suppose..) that public swimming should be available. So I bought plenty of swim passes for the party guests. I've never spent time at the wellness centre, until recently was the first time I've really been in there, and I've now discovered the room I've "booked" is at the farthest, opposite side of the building from where the pool is. I attempted to move to a closer room but was told the rest were being held by others. At the time I secured this room I was told there were no other bookings as the new system made it impossible to do so. Moral of this review, if you book on a weekend where they host a corporate event, members/residents of the Quinte West region are clearly low priority. I will never book another event here again. Not worth the headache...
Read moreI have a serious love/hate for the Wellness Centre, it is a great resource for our community HOWEVER, it is usually disgusting - especially change rooms. Pool issues - the therapy pool gets to full and dirty with bandaides and particles floating in it - I suspect I got folliculitis on my arms from this pool. cigarette butts all over the outside of the building as well. Time slots for activities are RIDICULOUS - why is public skating at 10am on a tuesday?(or whatever dumb weekday they pick) who is taking their child out of school for this? PRICE - I used to be able to purchase 10swims for $25, then they raised the prices so it cost my family of 3 $14 to swim for 55min/1hr or 1hr20mim - obvi the 1hr20min is the best value but again it is usually tues/thurs night 7:30pm to 8:55pm... dumb dumb time slots and while I understand the reasons for price increases at least ask your community what you can do to help - like how about 6:45pm start times on weekdays and more sat/sun options I understand that hockey is the be all and end all of our ice time but if you dont want us peasants using the ice then stop offering these shit skate times. Skate sharpening is always "broken" and the little food cafe takes 10min+ to make you a bag of popcorn (but it is the BEST popcorn) Showers - either ice bath or skin melting hot (like why?) Bathing suit spinners are absent so you leave with soaking wet items - even after wringing them out they still drip. Just so many tiny shitty little things that can ruin the whole experience. If the YMCA Belleville had a pool like the YMCA in Trenton I would never return to the Wellness...
