In 1946, after the war, my grandfather and his brother opened a bakery in Copenhagen, Denmark. It quickly became a world renowned destination for sweets and baked goods. The brothers had reached local celebrity status and were the toast of the nation. They had plans to expand across Europe and concur the baking industry; that was until my now grandmother came along.
Both brothers fell for her when she walked into the bakery for some pastries. The brothers competed immensely for her love, but ultimately my grandfather out bested his brother. This caused a giant rift between the brothers and the bakery collapsed along with all their baking hopes and dreams.
My grandfather never baked a day in his life again until 2016 when he finally put my grandmother in a home. He baked up some of the best breads and scones I had ever tried. He passed 2 years later and I thought I would never eat scones that good again; until I went to COBS Bread in Belleville yesterday. What an experience, I loaded up on as much baked goods as I could fit into my Toyota Yaris. My grandfather and his scones may be gone, but I will never forget my first time going to COBS Bread...

However, the quality at this location is not the same as the multiple other location I’ve been to.
