In March I booked an appointment for my daughter and I for a pre-vacation mani/pedi. We both wanted shellac for fingers and toes. When I booked I confirmed the price. On the day of our visit, after our nails were done, my daughter tried to pay with debit but was told they only took cash. They were very irritated that she had to leave to go to a bank machine (even though I was staying until she got back). When she asked how much she owed they told her $20 more than I was quoted . When I questioned the price, I was rudely told it was more for shellac. I couldn't verify since they had no prices posted. I had decided I would not return. However, my daughter gave me a gift certificate for my birthday, for a manicure with shellac. When I went today and told Tommy I had a gift certificate, but also wanted a pedicure , he told me it would be $25. After my visit , when I gave him my gift certificate , he told me I had to pay $15 more because the gift certificate only said "shellac", that my daughter had only paid $20. I contacted my daughter who advised me she had paid $35. He basically called me a liar, told me to have my daughter come in to talk to him. Well it was his word against hers , since he only takes cash. My daughter is an 18 year old student that works part time. I told him I hope he is happy ripping off teenagers , and that he needs the $15 more than she does. Lesson learned, folks, make sure you get your dollar amount written on your gift certificate, not just the service, because he will say anything to get you to pay more than you should. He doesn't post his prices. I told him I wouldn't be returning and he told me "I hope you keep your word". Well, he doesn't have to worry, I will keep my word and not return. What kind of business owner acts like this when a customer questions, or has a complaint. I was very polite in asking and was well within my right. His staff did not speak English to me. Finished with my manicure then walked away. He came over and said "you are done now", and then gouged me with the extra cost. Tommy, there is too much competition out there to treat your...
Read moreThe end result is generally pretty good looking I must admit, but the process and environment isn’t so great. They’re not very friendly and generally not organized. I’ve had Tommy’s wife do my nails while she was being stern with their child who was running about the store, and playing with the moterized file while she was filing my nails, which was scary to say the least. On the same occasion she left the salon mid way through doing my nails and came back like 15min later to finish them without saying anything. Honestly 2 stars is being generous. Another occasion I was told it’d be an hour wait, understandable, so I came back just over an hour later. Waited another half hour, then they took my friend and I waited. She was done and paid about 45 minutes later while they still hadn’t even started me so I left. Another time a friend and I went for pedicures and it was like $30 and they only soaked, moisturized, and LIGHTLY exfoliated. Was really disappointed. I’ve had acrylics break from simple things like flicking a sliding door shut, but it is a 50/50 chance getting a sturdy set from them so if you want to take the gamble that’s up to you. They’re also pretty aggressive with the filing and don’t really talk to the customer from my experience and always want to rush you in and out which I personally hate. In conclusion I’m definitely done going here after being a customer here for months. Now I’ve started going to Luxe-tique and so far have had an amazing experience! Would recommend them instead. A lot prettier of a...
Read moreI scheduled an appointment for three manicures and three pedicures for my mom, myself, and my 3 year old daughter ( who had had multiple manicures and pedicures without a problem). When we arrived we were treated extremely poorly and gave the feeling they did not want us there. We were told to then chose our colours and to head to the back where we would have our pedicures. They only had two spaces ( 3 of us were getting pedicures) so I kindly stated that we had an appointment for my daughter as well and if it was easier she could share a spot with myself or my mother. This turned into a major ordeal. The owner was not happy but allowed it to happen. I had to ask multiple times about if my daughter was going to receive her pedicure and manicure ( she was the reason we went in the first place). They brushed me off. While my mom was getting her pedicure finished the owner told my mom that she would not receive a full manicure since my daughter HAD to have hers done. My mom once again explained that we had booked these appointments and that there should not be a reason that they both couldn't be done. He refused. My mom let it go. When they did my daughter's nails they refused to put a top coat on. When we went to pay they charged my mom for a complete pedicure and shallac manicure which she did not receive. I have never been treated so poorly at any nail salon and will not be returning. I would never recommend...
