The portions were huge, most of the staff were friendly, and a wide selection of ice creams.
The reasoning for my 3-star is for the disorganized way of ordering and the unfriendly demeanor of, what I assume, was the manager or key holder.
We had three cones to order, but when asked for our order, the staff immediately walked off to get the first cone, then a second employee came to get our second order, and finally we placed our third order with the original staff member.
During all this confusion, the girl who I assume had some authority, started barking at us to move the line down. We hadn't moved yet, because we were still trying to put in our order.
When we finally got to the cash register, my husband was trying to explain to the gentleman at the front of the line that his ice cream was still sitting on the ledge. While he was speaking, the same rude girl, without even looking up from the paperwork she was now doing, informed us to move to the other side of the counter as she closed the til we were standing in front of.
All I ever ask for from people working in customer service, is to be treated like a human being. A person who would like to be treated as if their patronage matters, and that they aren't a thorn in the employee's side. This woman acted as if we were scum beneath her shoe.
It isn't fair to rate a company a 1 star because of one person's inability to be kind to others. We will likely return, but if I saw this woman behind the counter, I would turn heel and go...
Read moreBest ice cream around! So many flavours to choose from (including lactose-free, low sugar, sorbet, and sherbet options), there's one for every taste. Portions are large! Even the Little Baby (first size) is enough to share if you want, and with the next size up (the Baby) you double up one flavour or get two different flavours. There are also (huge) hand-spun milkshakes (made with any flavour ice cream) and waffle cones.
The staff is always very friendly and work hard to serve people quickly while still being personable. They are all great, but Cooper gets a special shout out (he seems to be there every time I go in - I swear he lives there!).
The general store part has things you'd typically find in a general store - drink cooler, milk and dairy items, some local baked goods - interesting small town/cottage-y items and old-school candy, but the addition of the lotto ticket sales is especially handy.
Additional pluses: 1/ they are open late (10 pm in the summer, and I think 9:00 pm in the winter), and 2/ they have a reasonable points system that gives you every Xth ice cream free!
In all four seasons, this place is a regular...
Read morePretty disappointed, by the time I got home (less than 5 mins away) and it worked it's way into the open crevasse at the bottom it was less ice cream than a little baby for the price of a baby. It was clear the guy was in training but obviously nobody was watching him. What was I going to say "fill it up more"? I would expect someone in training to be watched so I wouldn't have to tell him how much to put in as a customer and have that awkward interaction. You can see in the picture it's nit even full to the rim, I had not even had 1 bite yet. For the price I expect more ice cream than that. Again just disappointed. I should've just bought a tub for a few bucks more but usually there is double the ice cream than what I got. I probably won't be going back. (The employees who I assume were supposed to be keeping an eye on the trainee were too busy counting their tips at the...
