I was injured in the store August 26 2024 due to a hazard where shelves that are angled to the floor are missing guards but are stocked with heavy 2-l bottles of pop. I reported the injury and returned several times to the store and took pictures on some of those times. As of now the store has not bothered to fix the issue.
My injury was from the bottle falling and striking my kneecap. It could have been worse but I have had pain for over 2 months now and still cannot get Walmart to care despite returning multiple times to beg them to make it safe.
The second time we were there, my partner fell due to product on the floor. It took a long time to find someone in the store to clean it up. they don't care about safety, obviously. She had her dress and shoes damaged by blueberry stain. In the pictures you can see the product boxes I put to try to warn customers when the store would not clean up. By the time this spill was cleaned we saw another and they did not move. We left the store.
When I was there the third time I asked the duty manager to use twist ties to try to block the gap. You can see in the last pic they have been mostly removed and nothing fixing the problem. This is over 2 months.
Even with the tragedy in Halifax, this store cannot take safety seriously.
You can see that there is a large gap between the guards due to poor unsafe installation of the product shelf.
Their insurance was called and I spoke to them but the manager did not bother to either fix the problem or get back to me. If this manager ignores injuries to customers and does not reach out to them, he should be fired. If he does not know about these injuries - reported to their insurance company - he should be fired.
I have attempted to get the store to fix the danger, pointing out that a 2 l bottle of pop falling from this height could kill a child. They do not care to fix it.
Anyone with WHMIS training should have known not to stock the shelf and to take the product off if insecure. This store has had many, many people made aware of the injury and danger and they walk by it constantly. Coke and Pepsi upgraded their shelves for greater safety but Walmart still does not care.
Hard to imagine a store so incredibly bad that they ignore an incident where a customer was hurt.
I will be contacting the BBB, City inspections and media trying to get them to fix the hazard. I encourage others to ask them to make their stores safe since an injury does not seem...
Read morePossibly the best visit to any Wal-Mart store in all my years. Hugely appreciated being disabled the reason... The Staff. Every one of them I encountered bar none! To provide a backdrop for understanding; I cannot walk more than 25 ft with its increasingly severe pain to wear a collapse is a virtual certainty. I would normally avoid Wal-Mart like the plague
The visit started by the greeter who instantly upon noticing my difficulty walking, without being intrusive but friendly made it clear he was guiding me to the motorized Carts. Then again, showed the way to the wide opening and replied with very accurate precision the most efficient route to the men's clothing department as I asked. Well Done Sir.
The Lady that clearly was restocking clothing in that department was the only one. However she was super courteous replying to questions on size fitting as well as pointing out the way to the changing rooms. As well guiding me accurately to my next destination of the pharmacy.
Perhaps The only reason I won't put a five star here was in this department It was very inconvenient being in the cart to navigate not just because of the plethora of rocks but far more because in that layout design somebody had clearly omitted allowing sufficient turning room for the cart, resulting in multiple times where the car was more of an inconvenience than it was an asset. I understand that floor space is at a premium however without access the very purpose is negated. When you cannot get to the items you definitely can't evaluate if you wish to purchase them.
The final department of the day the sales lady deserves the gold star for service to the patron, providing directions for precise items and despite being extremely busy appeared skilled at quickly dealing and dispatching with the tasks of the department There were six items I needed each and a different area that each she knew exactly where and how to direct my search for them. Remarkably even noticing that for one item I'd actually picked up a version that I would have had to have returned and it was the wrong one. Despite being quite busy never felt as if I or any of the others patrons were being rushed. I truly appreciate all the staff that day however this lady with her smile negated the stresses for me always involved...
Read moreThis location has been my go-to for quite a while now, mainly because of convenience. It’s close by, and it usually gets the job done. That said, my experiences here have been a bit of a mixed bag, and while I wouldn’t say it’s a five-star store, it definitely holds steady around the 3.5 mark for me.
Last fall, I ordered winter tires through this location. The pricing was reasonable and the order came in fairly quickly, which I appreciated. However, the communication around the process was pretty underwhelming. I didn’t get clear notification or follow-up instructions about what to do next, and more frustratingly, no one mentioned that the tire center at this particular store had been shut down. That resulted in a whole lot of unnecessary running around trying to find a place to get them installed. A simple heads-up would have saved a lot of time and hassle. It just felt like a gap in customer service that could have easily been avoided.
As for the store itself, it’s your standard Walmart. Nothing fancy, and yes, it can feel a little messy or chaotic at times. It’s not necessarily dirty, but with how busy it gets, especially during peak hours, things can start to look rough around the edges. The biggest pain point is the self-checkout area. It’s heavily relied on here, but I honestly don’t think this location was the best choice for that setup. The demographic that shops here includes a lot of older customers who, understandably, aren’t always comfortable using the machines. What ends up happening is that the lines slow down, people get flustered, and the flow of the store becomes congested. It’s not the fault of the customers, but rather a mismatch in how the tech was rolled out.
All of that said, I still come here. It serves its purpose, and for most basic needs, it’s fine. But I do wish there were a more polished or better-managed version of this store, something with a bit more attention to detail and customer experience. That’s not to say I expect luxury at Walmart, but a smoother, more thought-out operation would go a long way.
In the end, it's convenient and functional, but don’t expect stellar service or a perfectly streamlined experience. It’s a 3.5 at best, but rounded down for the sake of fairness...
