Walmart Should Be Ashamed — This Is Exploitation of Gig Workers 📣 Review Body: I’m a delivery driver, and I want to bring attention to the shockingly low pay Walmart offers for package deliveries through their third-party delivery system. Look at this real offer I received (screenshot attached): 📦 7 package stops 🕒 2 hours and 12 minutes total time 🚗 61.3 km of driving 💰 $17.64 total pay (including estimated tip) Let’s break this down: 🧮 Cost Breakdown: Gas cost (61.3 km at ~10L/100km = ~6.1L @ $1.70/L): $10.37 Time spent: over 2 hours, which means… Actual profit = $17.64 - $10.37 = $7.27 total Which equals $3.30/hour — BEFORE taxes, insurance, or wear on the car. This is less than half of minimum wage. And that's assuming everything goes smoothly — no delays, no customer issues, no traffic. 💔 The Reality: Walmart relies on gig workers to power their delivery services. But offers like this show zero respect for the time, effort, and personal costs we absorb. The work is physically demanding, stressful, and increasingly dangerous — yet drivers are treated like disposable labor. Walmart makes billions in profits every year. Meanwhile, the people helping them fulfill deliveries are being paid like this? It’s exploitative. --- 🙋‍♂️ To Customers: Please be kind to your drivers and understand what we're dealing with. 🏢 To Walmart: You can do better — and you should. Pay fair rates. Stop undervaluing the workers keeping your delivery system running.

NO REFUNDS FOR WALMART INCOMPETENCE! Historically, Walmart has had a no fuss refund policy -- but not this time. I had passport photos done at the photo centre and they looked just fine until I showed up at the passport office. The agent said immediately, Oh you wore white -- meaning there wasn't enough contrast between me and the white background. I had to get new photos. I returned to Walmart and explained the problem and the person working the photo counter that day said they normally won't take photos if the customer is wearing white. He didn't know why that happened in my case. At the customer service counter, the manager said there are no refunds for photo services and then pointed to a sign. Although I explained that this was their fault, she said no. I said I would leave a negative public review but she was unfazed. Okay, if it's going to be that way.

Few days ago we ordered cheese (double cheddar) through UBER EATS, and it had mold. I added the picture. The expiration date is in 3 months from now. We naively trusted employees and managers who are taking care of products ordered online but I now noticed that they always choose the ones they should throw away as they're poisonous, and they give them out to online clients using Uber eats App. Our fridge is at a perfect temperature and we always buy cheese but this is too much and deadly. I hope my kid doesn't get sick from swallowing some of the cheese 😒. Please STOP selling bad products and adjust your big fridges temperature 🌡. Even the milk box is linking😒. Unhappy with the service provided through the Uber eats App from this Wal-Mart supercenter.

Worst customer service experience ever. I will not be going back to this specific Walmart until I die. I had experienced racism in this store multiple times.

Two worst memorable experience I had,

Later today at 8:30 pm (January 4, 2022) , we were returning a comforter set I bought on December 29, 2021. I opened the comforter but didn’t end up using because I saw the materials and it’s not the one I wanted because it ruins easily once you put it in the washer. I hadn’t had time to return quickly because of the holidays and my work. We tried to return it and the staff at the customer service called her manager to make sure they can accept the set since it’s been opened. The manager came to us and wasn’t nice at the beginning. She came to me and my mom with no social distancing and just opened the set she kept holding and rubbing her hands to feel if it has been used. (It’s easy to tell apart an item that is used by it’s colour, smell and touch) She doesn’t want to believe us. Then, end up telling the staff that it’s her call (whether or not they’ll refund us the item). The staff told us she can’t accept the refund since it’s been opened just safety measure because of pandemic. My mom then questioned that if it’s because of pandemic and it’s been opened what’s the point of calling a manger down and her opening and touching the items if they already know they’re not giving us the refund. The manager even told us “ why are you not washing items that you buy?!” Like seriously.. it’s very simple that if you already know you’re not giving the refund at the get go then no need to open and make a big deal out of it even calling the manager.. we would understand if it was explained nicely. The manager doesn’t even want to give her name to us. If pandemic is the reason why the need to touch the comforter and pillows and come really close to us without maintaining social distance.

2 weeks ago my mom and I bought some stuffs using the self checkout. A lady staff member came up to us and watched us closely as we scan our items. We barely had much, while my mom was scanning her stuff she was counting along loudly. Which I find very offensive since she wasn’t watching all the other customers scanning items. She had her eyes on us. She even counted wrong. My mom had 4 items and she counted 3. After my mom, I scanned mine. There was an African- American guy behind me still scanning his items and she went up to him asking if he had already scanned the items inside his cart. Clearly he’s not done scanning all his items and what’s the point of asking that. I would think it’s okay to ask that if he’s done scanning or if she saw him put an item inside the plastic bag without scanning but she just walked up to him asking if he scanned his items. We went to the washroom and when we came back we saw her again eyeing an Asian family as they scan their items.

I believe that the staffs and managers need to get a proper training and there should be a lecture about proper customer...

This Walmart is a joke. I will never step my foot in this ..... again.

The customer service is awful. 0 respect to the customers.

Half of the service counters are typically closed. Especially when it is a massive influx of people in the store. (Results in a huge line at the self-checkout counters).

03.The regular cash registers there never seem to work either.

The place is dirty.

The situation (Wednesday night, June 14): The item I scanned showed a different price compared to the shelf.

I approached the employee at the self-checkout counter, and he reluctantly said "let me check it online." I told him “no, check on the shelf please”. Then he told me to go and take a picture of the price tag myself to show a proof to him. Across the whole store, squeezing through this crowd.

I stand still for a couple more minutes waiting for him to at least suggest paging the bakery department so they confirm the price, or maybe calling customer service that were nearby. He never payed attention to me anymore tho.

So instead, the other worker approached to me and asked loudly many times: “DID YOU PAY IS IT PAYED IS IT PAYED”. I explained her the problem and this is conversation that followed:

There is a price difference on what you have on shelf and what I scanned.

Oh we know this bread is expensive! looking the other direction trying to prevent a theft??

Okay but the price is different from I’ve seen on shelf.

But we know this bread is expensive. never making an eye contact with me, always going back and forth so i have to keep up with her.

…

leaving somewhere

like ok very "respectful" and "customer oriented" (no).

This is something you can potentially face in this walmart. Prices are tempting but it is more important to maintain your nerve system and visit the Loblaws College Square...

Your baseline and Clyde Walmart in Ottawa just embarrassed the hell out of me. For starters I come to Walmart after going to Dollar tree and loblaws so I already have bags with me. I walk around get what I need. Garbage bags, wedge fries and a butter dish. I get to the cash with HUGE lineups. Finally make it to the self check out I look at the woman working and joke "this will be the fastest customer ever, only have 3 things!" I scan my items, pay, get my receipt and proceed to leave. SHE then stops me asking did I scan everything. I pick up what I had and say yup, she then proceeds to say she needs to search my other bags from other stores some of which have my personal medications and prescriptions in. I say no I showed you what I bought and start to walk out. She then radios someone who then walks up to us as we are leaving he PHYSICALLY GRABS my cart and pulls it away from me towards him. I forcefully pull my cart out of his hands yell at him and say your not going through my stuff that I have gotten at another store then I go to leave. He follows me outside the store while is on the phone having a conversation about me in front of other customes that I refused to let them go through my own personal property that I have purchased somewhere else and even have the receipts. If this is how you guys allow your customers to be treated WHY have self checkout? Do you know how embarrassing it is to be stopped in front of hundreds of people and be accused of theft? Disgusting.i feel like recommending people to stop shopping at Walmart and pay the extra it would cost to shop at a place like loblaws at least there they don't treat people like criminals and I know you guys won't care but there is power in numbers and I'm sure many other people have experienced this as well and would love to come forward and be...
