Easy parking. Large, clean, well stocked store. The sales staff are friendly and are extremely helpful. I am pleasantly surprised that the floor staff were more then welcoming. They stop whatever they may be doing and go out of their way to answer your question. If they don't have tthe answer, they persist until they have connected you with the person that can help you. It is obvious that this store puts the "customer service first" policy, a reality. Every store claims this, however it's up to each stores manager to hold frequent staff meetings to reinforce this motto. Other locations seem to be more preoccupied with the focus of the job assigned, be it stocking a shelf, or simply walking to an appointed destination. If asked a question, the usual reply is, "That's not my department", and simply resume whatever you interupted. This store is bright and department signs are large and uncluttered. I found it easier and quicker to get everything I had on my shopping list, then in other locations which I have visited frequently. The magic is the Customer First attitude and clear uncluttered or hidden signs. I also found the wide selection of products and clean well lit displays that are well spaced. You don't drown in tight, unimaginative isles that overwhelm and confuse the shopper. The old adage, "Less is best" should be visited by the department management of many other locations. I am still dealing with difficulty walking, the result of surgery to mend a thigh bone I broke last summer. Shopping is a painful ordeal. I require a store that is easy to maneuver with staff willing to assist me. The Cashier at this location was attentive enough to notice my cane. She brightly offered to have someone carry my purchases to my car. A...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been living in Pickering for 7 years. Everything in Pickering Town Centre has changed. It's sad to see that many stores didn't survive Covid-19. I am blaming people because they keep breaking lockdown rules. When I was at Pickering Town Centre, I was concerned when I saw people walking wrong way around and passed the others. They were supposed to be walking one way but they didn't pay attention to the warnings and didn't even think about safety. The mall security should check security surveillance. You will realize that we are not all in this together. It's definitely sad to know that they tolerate unacceptable behaviors. Sometimes I think like serious?? They are adults? But I feel like I have to scold them like they are children. Where is common sense and respect? What the heck is wrong with people these days?
The mall security must keep eyes on people, where they go and what they do. The mall security and the Police should work together as a teamwork and be firm and fine them for not following the rules at Pickering Town Centre.
I honestly think this mall should be closed temporarily because of people region hopping. Do you really think that Torontoians won't hop in Pickering while they are told to stay at home and following the orders? Nah, they keep ignoring and will tolerate unacceptable behaviors by hopping in Pickering while they are told to stay at home no matter what Pickering Mayor Dave Ryan says. I strongly believe that Many Torontoians are still hopping in Pickering and ignoring Pickering Mayor Dave Ryan. Again.. this mall should be closed temporarily and urge people to stay at home as much as possible to stop spread. Think about children's health and their future. Do it for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI posted the following review 11 months ago when this was called Pickering Town Centre. They may have changed the name to āThe Shops of Pickeringā, however the loss of brand stores has continued. And the number of empty stores has greatly increased over the past year. Even though we are within walking distance we now drive to Oshawa Town Centre which is vibrant, growing, and has wide range of brand shops in different categories.
Here is my update post 11 months ago:
āPTC is continuing to see vendors leave. Many empty stores in the main mall. Recent additions in the parking lot have added some value but difficult to get to from the main mall if the weather is bad.ā
That review was from four years ago. We went there last night and itās deteriorated even more with many more brand stores having left replaced by empty stores or mom-and-pop vendors. What was really surprising is that The Bay is allowed to close before the rest of the mall at 7:00 PM. For those that parked and entered through The Bay they are forced to walk around the outside of the mall in the weather to get to where they parked. The fact that The Bay can do this is a sign of just how little influence the PTC Management has on anything. They are just holding this open until the condo developments take over and...
