Urban Golf — Local services in Saskatoon

It was a yucky day out so we didn’t feel like being on the courses dealing with the weather. We decided to come do some golfing here with the simulators. I loved that they encouraged you to bring your own clubs though it does seem they have some for rent.

While browsing the site I actually noticed they had some lessons. For fun we decided to see if we could snag some last minute. My partner and I ended up doing an hour with Brody who fit us into his schedule. What a treat.

He was so kind, patient and fun to work with. He didn’t make me (a beginner) feel stupid or ashamed. He explained things in a way that made it seem easy and no big deal. Exactly the type of instruction I needed. He said he works a lot with beginner women so understand their challenges. I would agree he does and he is excellent at this. After an hour I had better form & left being able to hit the ball 99% of the time with irons- in the past it was a 1:4 ratio with barely any lift off the ground.

My partner enjoyed the experience as well, though he is more intermediate in skill, Brody was able to give him pointers on things to work towards for overall game improvement.

Brody is a fantastic teacher and I will come back for more lessons in the future once I put the tips into action and progress based on his recommendations.

The facility itself is smaller, easy to get booked up. Recommended to make reservations and it’s busier during the winter months. There is a large bar with lots of options for food and drink.

We will definitely return during winter & whenever we’re around. I also plan to bring a friend for lessons too so we can progress together in a safe, nonjudgemental space.

Also, the price of lessons for two is so affordable...

We had a great time using the simulator! We booked a four hour time block and the three of us were able to finish all 18 holes on the course we chose.

The sensors did a really good job of tracking our swings with a few minor hiccups during putting. The software worked well and wasn't too difficult to get the hang of. The staff offered help when we arrived to ensure we were set up properly. Make sure you download the Trackman app and get it set up before arriving.

The place is licensed and we had very attentive service. They also offer food (that is brought over from Birminghams) so there is a full menu to choose from.

One of our party forgot a club so they called us to let us know right away. Top notch service!

Where do I even start!?!?

If you are a golfer in the Saskatoon area, then this will be a dream come true! Urban Golf is truly a golfers paradise. From the owner (Kevin) and the staff to the tech (Trackman), you can expect nothing short of world class! I love that there is now a local place where I can go and make sure that my game stays sharp throughout the winter and I can know without a doubt that the numbers and ball flight etc. that is being displayed is as close to perfect as you can get indoors.

I highly recommend Urban Golf and look forward to spending a LOT of time there in the years to come!
