Thien Vietnam 3 Restaurant — Restaurant in Saskatoon

This has been a favorite place of mine to go for noodle bowls and they have always been really good other than maybe the spring rolls over cooked or not crispy at all,but today I really got a bad taste for this place unfortunately. I started eating my chicken noodle bowl,had a few bites of some noodles and spring roll and then a piece of chicken,the meat was so aweful tasting I had to spit it out into a napkin,Im not even sure how to describe it,maybe old,freezer burnt,just a horrible horrible taste,it was so off putting. I did have more of my noodles and spring rolls but I was too scared to eat the chicken,I tried one small piece after and it was ok but I just didn't feel like chancing it. If a waitress had come by I wouldve said something but no one came to ask how everything was. At the til my husband mentioned it as I was standing by and she blew it off as if it was nothing or like I was making it up. She said my husband and then she waved her hand towards the tables and said others had had the same chicken so how couod that be. Didn't even apologize to me or anything just totally dismissed it. I'm really not sure if I want to eat there again. Had she at least acknowledged it and made an effort to look sorry for it or something other than try to make it my problem,but her attitude just left me with a bad...

Hard to leave a bad review because I normally quite enjoy the food at Thiens. It’s not known for being top quality but definitely a good cheap meal option.

Took myself for a noodle bowl tonight and ordered the #48 - chicken and spring roll vermicelli bowl.

The food came out quickly. And I enjoyed it solo. Not even halfway through eating the bowl, I discovered an uncooked piece of chicken. It was super off putting and I stopped eating. I got up and pulled a waitress aside as I didn’t want to make a big scene, and I explained that I was done eating as I found a piece of uncooked chicken in my meal.

She asked what I would like out of the situation and I didn’t really know what to say except that I hope I don’t get food poisoning. She asked if I’d pay for half of it. I agreed at first then as she rang it up, I said it didn’t feel right because I didn’t eat the whole meal and it had uncooked chicken. She apologized and would let the kitchen know, and that I didn’t have to pay.

Bummer because it was a favourite place for a quick cheap bite to eat but might think twice next time - or skip...

I absolutely love their other locations, so being in this area of town for the evening, it only made sense to go here. We will never make that mistake again. The food was comparable to the other two locations, but the service was deplorable. We ordered special #1 & #2. Hubby got his, and like a polite spouse he waited until mine arrived to eat. We waited so long that his got cold and we had to ask where mine was. Apparently it was just forgotten about in the kitchen because she returned within moments with my now ice cold meal. Our server never came back to our table, never topped up our water, never even noticed our glasses were empty. It was not during busy hours, there was 2 wait staff and not more than 5 tables occupied. If this had been my first experience with this chain of restaurants, we would never go to any of them.
