My wife went in on a Friday afternoon as we do almost every Friday, purchased sauce, buns, lunch meat; etc. By Sunday at lunch I took out the roast turkey lunch meat out of the fridge to make a sandwich and it stunk up my fridge like feces. Obviously it had gone bad in a matter of 48 hours. I called the store Monday afternoon and was directed to speak with the owner. I stated the fact that I was a bit let down that the meat had turned in 2 days in the fridge. When my wife explained to me that when she was making her selection at the deli, the owner told the staff cutting the meat to use up the end of the turkey roast, as the counter person was attempting to open up a fresh roll. The owner/butcher became very defensive and argumentative with me when I called, stating that the meat had gone bad in my hot car while I was transporting it home. and that their meat is always fresh and they sell (open fresh) 2 turkey rolls per day. I suspect that this meat had been on its last days, prior to expiring.
I have an air conditioned car. I live 3 km from the store, exactly 6 minutes door to door.
I must say, this was not exactly the response I was expecting. I suggested to the gentleman on the phone that I was a bit let down, and again he doubled down on blaming me for somehow mishandling the purchace. By the end of the conversation he spit out that if I was not satisfied that I could bring it back for a refund. I disposed of the meat. Last time I go to city meat market, not for getting meat that was on the verge of spoiling, mistakes happen, but for the behavior...

Read moreIf I could give this place one star I would the rude, black haired lady treats everyone awfully I think you should understand when you’re downtown that there’s obviously gonna be a certain demographic approaching your business something that she does clearly not know how to handle based on multiple occasions that I’ve seen. Another huge issue looking back at it was how they were treating customers during Covid I remember man repeatedly telling them please I have a disability. I can’t wear a mask due to my breathing condition and they still told him to leave the store. I remember coming here with my father one time and having a worker rudely look at us in shock and say you have a stove and we’re looking at frozen items. I will say on the other hand the guys in the back have always been super polite and nice the rare occasions you interact with them so they get a A+ giving...
