Do NOT waste your money here.
Thankfully we used scene points, and didn’t lose any money on the movie. Our experience was HORRIBLE.
Husband and I arrived at 9 for a 9:50 movie. We were planning on playing in the arcade before the movie. The person doing the QR scanning for the movies literally ran and purposely glided across the wet floor (I’m not kidding, watch the cameras).
The arcade still uses tokens, so there is no way to play without cash. Every other cineplex we have been to uses play cards, so we weren’t expecting to have to bring cash. They don’t offer cash back or have an atm.
We go to the popcorn desk and order. I wanted the collectible sing cup for my daughter so I ordered the mini meal. I got a regular cineplex cup. Husband ordered a combo with a drink, popcorn, candy and movie rental. The guy said “pick a candy from the top 2 shelves but just let me know and I’ll grab it off the cart”. He started doing drinks, handed my husband the drink and walked away. No popcorn, no candy. Employee went off to the corner to talk to another. So we stood there and waited for him to come back. Finally he realized he didn’t give us popcorn, but still forgot about the candy. Husband had to remind him to give us the candy.
When we got to our theatre, it had not been cleaned since the last movie. There was popcorn everywhere, all over the theatre. So we’re in a pandemic, but we don’t clean theatres between movies. Gross. We sat in the theatre for 15 minutes until we decided it wasn’t worth hanging out in a disgustingly dirty theatre for 2 hours. We left before the move started.
As we were leaving, some employees at the outtakes desk were throwing popcorn or something behind the counter, and once again running and gliding across the floor.
No manager, or any adult for that matter in sight. Just a bunch of teenagers running the place.
Horrible customer service, horrible experience. We will never go back. South common is always so clean and we learned our lesson about trying other theatres. So disappointed we wasted 2500 scene points and $30 on popcorn at this place.
TLDR; rude, unprofessional employees. Dirty theatre, was not cleaned in...
Read moreWe really love frozen yogurt which is extremely difficult to find these days (apparently there's no demand for healthy dessert in Edmonton), so we thought we would go to the theatre in Sherwood Park to get some. The first time we went, the machine was broken. We were very disappointed, so we thought we would try to call first the next time. However, no one seems to answer the phone even after multiple attempts. We finally did get through and were told that the frozen yogurt was working again. So we came down around 8 pm only to find that the theatre was completely closed (and no, theatre hours are not posted anywhere or included in their automated phone recordings)! Exasperated, we tried one more time the next day, calling multiple times again, getting no answer and making the drive anyway, arriving well before 8 pm, thinking that would be safe given that there are shows that start at 7:30 pm. We arrived AGAIN to find the theatre closed!!! It has been extremely frustrating!!!! Either the machine is broken, or the theatre is inexplicably closed and in either event no one will ever answer the phone which would have saved us a lot of time and grief and disappointment!!!! We have done all due diligence available to us and they make it impossible to obtain their concession products!! We would love to know how we go about being a customer when either their machine or freezer is broken and/or they don't post hours and they close at random hours AND you can't call ahead to find out this...
Read moreIf I were you, I would pick a different movie theatre. I don’t tend to make complaints often. Lets start with the MICE. Yes you heard right. As I have been looking I have found on more than one occasion where this theatre has had a complaint about a mouse problem. It looks as though these people just made a complaint on social media. I will be taking this one, two, three steps further. Until this doesn’t happen again. Lets just say that I should not have to attend a movie and worry about if a mouse will be crawling into my food, having a mouse trap stuck to my children’s & I’s shoes , or having to see a half dead mouse on my way out of my movie.
Which then brings me to the staff. I spoke with 2 managers this evening, who both admitted that they knew this was a problem before the movie started yet “Did not want to disturb the patrons” so they placed traps before the movie started, then they intended on dealing with it after. They had tons of staff around. Which brings me to this complaint, I get it people are busy doing their jobs but isn’t there someone doing clean up.This theatre is also not clean at all, garbage around, floors in the lobby looked like they haven’t been cleaned in awhile. PS. Also really crappy lighting in the theatres themselves, I needed my cellphone camera to get up the stairs so I didn’t trip. and what it with the cramp seating? End...
