Definitely the worst service I have ever seen from a autobody shop. I went in to order my tires from their storage because I have heard very bad service for tire changeovers from Canadian Tire before. My friend has gotten his rims scratched and had 4 weights in different places when getting the tires balanced (stacking weights and double weighing). So I planned on cancelling a previously made appointment and getting my tires from storage. Sounds simple right? Should take maybe a max of 1 hour to get everything right? Well I went in on a Monday and waited about 30 minutes to talk to someone. I requested my tires and canceled my appointment. They told me it would be in for Wednesday and I could pick it up for Thursday. Awesome. Thursday comes around and im waiting in line for a solid hour this time. No big deal, I understand they were busy. The customer support told me he would go look for my tires and spent another 30 minutes looking for them. Turns out they didnt order my tires or cancelled my appointment. Im a little annoyed but what can we do? we all make mistakes and they tell me we can get it for Friday. I come back Friday and wait another 45 minutes to talk to someone. This time the employee looked exhausted and was being kinda rude, but im assuming he had a long day so whatever. They look for my tires for another 45 minutes and dont find them AGAIN. At this point they bring me the supervisor and let me know thats my tires got left behind during shipping and my appointment is STILL not cancelled. Dean the supervisor lets me know he will personally leave a note for the manager to call me the next day and says tire will be in next day as well. He told me to wait for the call before coming in this time and I can talk to the manager tomorrow. I thank him and leave hoping I can get this simple request done. Saturday comes and I have not received and calls or texts, since I have a appointment at a different shop the next day, I go back again to see if the tires were here as they told me. I wait only 15 minutes this time to talk to a employee and I request to speak to the manager because I just wanted someone who would stop wasting my time. They let me know he is not here and go look for my tires again. They check the main building and couldnt find it, they then send me to the oil building and send me into the employee only section to look for them myself. I cant find them. I go back to the main building and they look again. This time they finally find it and tell me to pull up to the bay doors. I pull up to the bay doors and a employee starts yelling at me to get out of the way. I go find parking far away and lug my tires across the parking lot with no help from anyone. Before I leave I talk to an employee to leave a note for the manager to finally call me the next day so we can talk about this whole situation. No one has called me yet and it seems the only way to get through to these people is to leave a review online. Only two employees were polite, Dean the supervisor, and a long dark haired caucasian male working in the oil building. Every other person I talked to looked like they were gonna angry and wanted to quit that dayâŠ. Overall I got basically no help, no communication, and wasted way too many hours on such a simple task. I did not spend that much money to store tires to go through that much of a hassle. This whole situation would have been fine if they let me know the tires didn't come from the start, gave me a call, or at least showed some positive attitude. I also got my skate blades chipped while getting them sharpened there as well. I would only recommend going here if you are looking to buy something. AVOID ALL SERVICES!!!! Im also convinced that there is no managers working here lol. Once again thank you to those two employees who seemed to be the only ones in the autoshop who seemed like they...
Read moreI could give zero stars if possible. I called Canadian Tire Auto Service to book an appointment and on the phone I specifically stated that I needed: 1) changing the headlight bean on the driver side and 2) changing the windshield washer fluid hose L connector on the passenger side of a Dodge Journey 2012. The car had a burned light bulb on the driver side, and the L connector on the passenger side was disconnected. It took me 5 minutes to diagnose both issues, as I have eyes to see a burnt light, and the windshield washer hose on the passenger side was spraying washer fluid on the floor because it was disconnected from the washer nozzle. The driver side was working fine, so using basic logic, it could not be a "pump issue". I was booked for the next day and asked my father â who doesnât speak fluent English, to take the car over there, with a WRITTEN note of what should be done. The note read âDodge Journey 2012, 10 am, âmy phone numberâ, headlight driver side, L connector windshield fluid passenger sideâ. Upon arrival, they gave him a waiting time estimate of ONE hour. Then they required more time. And more. And more. After FOUR HOURS, for some reason, my father was charged $80 for a half-hour âwindshield washer operation checkâ, $49.99 for the part (a washer nozzle that costs that, so very fair), and $80 for âvehicle exterior accessoriesâ, which refers to 30 minutes of services for changing the washer nozzle, and $20 for shop supplies. When I called for an appointment, I wasnât informed that I would be charged a diagnosis fee for the windshield â let alone that a technician could take up to 30 minutes to lift the hood and see the hose was disconnected when it took me, a veterinarian, 2 min. After FOUR hours, my father was asked if he wanted to authorize extra services â such as wheel alignment and such. When my father came back with the bill, I was quite confused on why it cost $300 and FOUR HOURS for a windshield connector replacement and a lightbulb change. I called and was informed that they performed a âfreeâ inspection. If you overcharge for services that are requested, then your âfreeâ inspection is not actually free â you are charging for services that were not authorized. I didnât want to have my vehicle checked for âreplacement of tie rodsâ âwheel alignmentâ âreplacement of trailing linkâ, etc.: I wanted to have a light bean and the washer fluid fixed. I also didnât want my parents to wait 4h for a service that I imagined it would take an experienced technician the maximum of 1h. After a conversation on the phone, the staff insinuated that the inspection was required as "you weren't sure what the issue was and the inspection was authorized by your father". Excuse me. I was 100% sure what the issue was, and coincidently, it was exactly what I wrote. I ended up being refunded for the $80 âwindshield inspection feeâ, not without asking the manager to please stop trying to scam people. I was informed that I was not scammed, as apparently they are "obliged to charge half hour labour for the inspection" while insinuating I don't know the labour laws. If coming to this place, be prepared to look carefully through your invoice and let staff know upfront that you donât want their free inspection services or unnecessary inspections if you know what your vehicle needs. This is not the first time I have an issue with them and looking at the reviews, I am not...
Read moreHad my truck in to get tires picked out tires with the guy who was working the service desk was quoted for tires and install. I left and was waiting for there call to say it was done. I received a call saying the tires they sold me were not correct tires. I asked what they had that were the correct tires and they said they had to call me back. I get a call back and they tell me oh sorry we were wrong those tires are good. I asked you are 100% sure that these tires are good for towing. They tell me yes sir you will be completely safe. I told them to gonahead and install them. After getting off the phone didn't feel right about this so I researched the tires myself and found out that they are definitely not safe for towing and actually the farthest thing from safe. I called back and argued with the service desk about it and they still were trying to guarantee me that they were good tires. I asked them to put it in writing that they guarantee me these tires are safe and have proper load rating for towing. They would not put it in writing but all of the sudden were willing to swap the tires for different ones that were a little more expensive at no extra cost. I said ok please do that. They told me they were pulling it back in the shop right now and would be ready for me in 1.5 hours when I got there after work. I showed up and my truck was not even brought into the shop yet. I went in to see what was going on and nobody had a clue. Finally figures it out and they told me it would be ready tonight still. This was at 8:45 pm and apparently the tech was on lunch and would get to it as soon as he got back. I was not waiting so I said I would pick it up in morning. My wife went to pick it up as I was at work already. My wife has now lost almost 2 days work dealing with this. After she picked it up she told me how much it was. Again something didn't seem right to me. She sent me the invoice and I found almost $300 in charges that shouldn't be there. My wife went back again and tried dealing with the service department they just kept giving her the run around. She went and found the store manager and explained everything to him. He was baffled by the invoice and could not figure out why those charges were there. He ended up figuring it out and I was refunded that money. The incompetence of this service department blows my mind. They are OK with selling you unsafe things for your vehicles and they are ok with you driving around while your vehicle is unsafe and on top of that rip you off. I really feel because my wife who is a girl took it in and picked it up that they felt they could take advantage of her and they could pull one over on her. Steer far away from this service department if you want to stay safe. And if you have dealt with them before might want to check over your receipts. I can only imagine how many people they have ripped off and gotten away with it. Really wish I could...
