My Happy Place in the Distillery District I don't know what it is about Bergo, but It’s my absolute favourite spot in the Distillery District, and honestly, a go-to for pretty much any occasion, whether I'm looking for a gift or just want to treat myself.
The place is a true cabinet of curiosities, and I mean that in the best way possible. One moment I'm giggling at Jellycat plushies, and the next I'm admiring some ridiculously cool Alessi houseware, thinking, "Do I really need a designer kettle? Yes, yes I do." The mix of things is just perfect—it's a little bit quirky, a little bit sophisticated, and all of it is just so wonderfully interesting.
What really makes Bergo special, though, is the feeling you get when you're there. The staff are so incredibly friendly and genuinely helpful. They're not just trying to sell you something; they're sharing their passion for all the cool stuff in the store. It's like having a knowledgeable friend who knows exactly what you're looking for, even if you don't know it yourself yet. They've helped me find the perfect, one-of-a-kind gift more times than I can count.
If you love unique home decor, clever gadgets, and things that just make you smile, you have to visit Bergo. It's not just a store; it’s an experience. It’s where I go when I need a little dose of inspiration and a reminder that good design and a good sense of humour can make the world a...
Read moreBought 8 placemats at $30. One of which got some syrup on it and will not come off. During covid they were closed to public so we called in and no return Call. Then when everything lifted, we went in person to discuss and got no help whatsoever from staff. Only suggestions on how to fix. All of which we tried to no avail. Why would this happen to one placemat they asked? Great question, we have no idea. All we know is that we already paid a steep price fe a placemat and now it cannot get cleaned. We left the store with a request for a manager to call us. It has been three months and not a single call has been received. We are very disappointed as we do enjoy the store, however, the lack of professionalism and the fact that they do not stand behind their product, or even volunteer to reach out to the manufacturer disappointed us. They weren't even interested in finding out what it could possibly be for us. I guess the store and relies on tourist to just come and go in and out of the city, but for those of us who live in the GTA in a little bit beyond, it becomes very difficult to buy products that we use as part of our home on a daily basis, and then we have no one to back it up for us. We treat all our mats the same so to have one not be cleanable there's something wrong with its...

PRODUCTS: There is a large selection of products from artists around the world. They have collection of unique pieces Th at you would be hard pressed to find anywhere else in town. Not only is there collection quite unique, but the quality of the products available seems to be high end. In addition, just browsing through the store can be an enjoyable experience as you can admire some great artistic pieces that if you can not afford, you can atleast find a similar version elsewhere (hopefully).
CUSTOMER SERVICE: Now I have mixed views on the customer service. Are they helpful? Yes. Do they let you browse without being over bearing and don't have constant interruptions? Yes. Can you hang out and touch things? Yes. So overall they are good. But what I didn't enjoy was the condensing attitude, when we attempted to buy a piece that was on display with scratches.
PRICE: Overall the price for items is quite high. The cheapest item that I cam across was $2.00 for a coaster cover and the most expensive was a clock for $2000. Things such as trays, glasses and other kitchen items are very high priced; a glass was $124. Simple things such as socks to a dog mask all come with a high price tag. Even the clearance items are too high; a pair of stackable...
