Not Smashing IT!

Changing my review from a 5 star to a 1 star.

Since when is it acceptable to have a menu in place that reads ' ITS BACK' and when you go to order the item, pay for the item, and you get something completely different that you weren't interested in ordering in the first place?

Not sure about the cheeky guy at the counter, but if your menu is out of date by 2 years, don't you think you should get rid of it then and post a current menu that actually reflects the items you're selling?

I ordered a Coronation Chicken Sandwich and it even states that on the chalkboard along with the words in BOLD CHALK "Its Back."

What I ordered and received was not a Coronation Chicken what it was was a slab of extremely dried chicken smothered in curry with Mayo. It was gross. Don't get wrong I like a good curry, but that wasn't one.

Bad business practices you got going on over there.

Good luck staying open with your deceitful business practices and condescending staff.

Because I won't be coming back.

just love this place and everything about it. It's my happy place. Great food, great and amazing sandwiches, my favorite is Coronation Chicken Sandwich & the sausage rolls which are to die for! The staff are so kind & wonderful Just a great place to enjoy yourself on a nice afternoon...

I have delayed writing a review as I was hoping Brick Street Bakery (Distillery location) would improve their customer service and food handling. I will no longer be shopping there due to the following: Unsanitary food handling. Numerous times when having my loaf of bread cut into slices, hands were not washed, dirty gloves were used after they were handling the till. Purchasing bread at 4:58pm, asking them to slice my bread and being told "we've already cleaned the machine for the day." Their loafs of bread are $6.35 and it was well before their posted closing time. I expect poor customer services from large chains, not from small businesses. Two weeks ago I was told they have a deal on bread at the end of the day, buy one get one 50% off. This week I've been told that this was only during COVID and they would not honour this. There appears to be a lack of consistency and knowledge sharing from their staff. Unreliable closing times. They have 6:00pm as their posted closing time on their website. I have been multiple times prior to 5:20pm and they have been closed. A customer's time is just as valuable as theirs, update your website or stay open until your posted...

I am a regular here, both for the bread and for sandwhiches and treats, but after having this experience one too many times I feel the need to post this so that hopefully management gets the message (as it is clearly not being delivered by employees) and people shopping there are aware. Showed up on a Sunday morning at 8:30 AM to get some bread and breakfast sandwiches, only be told that I would need to come back after 9 AM if I wanted to order sandwiches because they were making other sandwiches (I can only pressume they were call in orders as there was no one in the store or outside at the time). This has happened on many occasions, mostly on weekend mornings (I was once told they had a phone order of 50 sandwiches so they weren't taking orders that morning). Either staff properly for the large orders, or tell the large orders they will take longer, but never turn away on site purchasers, especially regulars. Management you should note the multiple comments of people saying they were turned away form orders. The last time I didn't come back for a month after this happened, this time it may be longer. I hope your phone in order...

We stumbled upon this little gem while wandering through the Distillery District this Sunday morning looking for a place to sit and grab some breakfast. A lot of places did not seem to be open despite it being after 10am. Entered and were immediately greeted and after a short look around proceeded to order two breakfast sandwiches and a couple hot beverages. Service was super friendly and quick and the breakfast sandwich was over the top! FRESH, Tasty and a generous portion! Served on delicious whole wheat bread this was really a great food experience! The bakery has a cool vintage vibe and feels like a local bistro should. They do have a good selection of take out which we will definitely try at a later visit. There are stools and a small area on each side to enjoy your food or drink on site which we took advantage of. Thanks Brick St. ! Excellent Espresso too! ☕️

a lovely little bakery/cafe right by the main entrance to the District. During warm months there are tables/umbrellas outside - for extra seating space - sadly now (November) they are gone. there are still some tall chairs by the windows available inside. a great place to grab something substantial - a good selection of sandwiches, pastries (including savoury - with some vegetarian options like the delicious Curry Veggie or Spinach FetaTurnovers). There are also sweet croissants and cookies and pies. Plus good coffee/hot beverages. you could also buy bread there - with many interesting varieties. Watch out for pigeons hanging out by the door, they are always trying to sneak in for some tasty crumbs ;)
