Complete lack of communication and shocking absence of professionalism. I would give zero stars if I could.

We tried multiple times to contact this caterer to place a large catering order. After speaking to them on the phone and asking if we could place a smaller order to try various dishes and make a selection, the company kindly agreed. We offered to send the order request through email, which they said would be preferred. We did so and what followed was a week of endlessly calling them. They told us on a Monday when we followed up that we would receive email confirmation and a pick-up date that day or the next. We did not. We called again on Wednesday, and we were assured the email confirmation was coming by end of day. We received nothing. On Thursday morning, we called again to ask what the cause of the delay was and why we had been left hanging for a week. We were suddenly told that the date of our function was already booked and had been for some time, and were rushed off the phone like we weren't worth another breath. Amazing that over the course of the many conversations in the week leading up to this (including the day before!), that was never the case.

The food looks nice, but I hope this business can learn to treat prospective customers with a little more courtesy and consideration. We were never rude or aggressive in our interactions with them and can't imagine why they would treat anyone that way. I can only guess that they have little regard for people if they already have orders lined up and aren't in need of more business, or that they are entirely disorganized. Have a "Plan B" ready!!! I initially reached out through email, and the communication right off the bat was not great. It was hit and miss...having to reach out several times for a response. When we did connect through email, we discussed my event, a baby shower for my daughter and was told they serviced my area. He said we should discuss further through a phone call. After two emails to him to set up a phone conversation, he told me my email was "missed", and a time and day was set up for the call. During this call, I reiterated all my details and he told me they had an event that day, but he could accommodate us with two employees, we confirmed the menu and I felt comfortable. This was with just over 1 month to the shower. With one week to go, I reached out on the Thursday with a couple of questions, as there had been no communication for at least 1 month. I sent three emails on the Thursday, left three phone messages on the Friday, left one Instagram message on the Saturday...one week before our event...no response to ANY of my communication attempts...panic! It was certainly not a comfortable feeling, knowing I have 45-50 people coming to my event and no food to serve, not very considerate of a customer's situation. On the Monday, five days before my event, I sent an email to cancel their service, within 7 minutes there was a response...cancellation confirmed...why was there no response to any of my earlier communication attempts? It was a horrible feeling being left with less than a week to our event...and no food to serve my guests...Cucina Mauro dropped the ball BIG time. Never have I been this excited to post a Google review!!!! We had the privilege of Cucina Mauro catering our very first Holiday Party for our new business. To us this was a very big deal and an extremely important event however it was a first, we really didn't know what to expect . I can say with great confidence that Cuccina Mauro MADE the event. Not only did he provide the food, his set up created this ambiance that just had everyone socializing and connecting on a level we didn't think was possible (Three days later and we're still getting Instagram messages and emails asking for Cucina Mauro's contact info). Let's rewind prior to the event... Organizing the menu was an extremely easy process, all done electronically (just how we like it). Mauro made some adjustments to accommodate all of our staffs dietary restrictions in the blink of an eye. He stayed in touch (we obviously were very excited and booked 2 months in advance) with updates via email the entire time and last but not least, the final touch that just blew me away...on his own time Mauro took a visit a to where were going to be hosting the event to get a visual of the layout and to plan accordingly. That is a business owner going above and beyond, it showed us that our event was just as important to him as it was to us. Cucina Mauro hats off to you ! WE CAN'T WAIT FOR OUR NEXT...
