If it wasn't for Camila, one of the on duty managers yesterday Aug.28.24, I would have given a 1 or 2 stars review. I placed an in store order for a new BBQ on Aug.21.24 for delivery between 1 and 4 pm Aug.28.24 in which I took the afternoon off from work to be home for the delivery as my wife had just given birth last month and was in no shape to accept the delivery to our condo building. As it was approaching 4:00 pm, I still had not received a 15 mins heads up a call as requested. I tracked the order online only to see that the delivery was being “rescheduled.” I called the store to inquire if this was correct, or an error. This is when I was connected to Melissa… one of the most unpleasant people in a customer service department I have ever dealt with. She told me that it was showing as still being delivered today on her end. When I questioned as to why it was showing as rescheduling on my end is when she started to become annoyed with me.. for absolutely nothing. She couldn't give me the courier delivery company number as per Home Depot’s policy… fine. When I politely asked if she could call them and put me on hold to see why we were being told different things (which she should have thought to do from the start vs not really showing a care in the world) I was met with a deep, annoyed SIGH and was told “one second”. After a few minutes of being on hold, she told me she checked with her delivery coordinator and said that I was called “several times.” She even went to the extent and said “He even showed me his calls to you on his phone!” Yet no voicemail left, or email. This was clearly a lie and a screw up on their end that they tried to cover. They took it upon themselves to rebook for the following day 1-4pm without even making sure this worked for me. Anytime I tried to talk, she cut me off saying “no no, one second” which is when I got really upset/frustrated and asked to speak to a manager. Her second lie was there were no managers on duty… at 3pm on a Wednesday. Ya ok… she then told me to call customer service hotline and “escalate it if I have a problem” and then hung up on me. What audacity a non-managerial employee has to tell a customer this before having the opportunity to speak with an in-store manager. Blatant laziness, and disrespect. I called back immediately and low and behold, Camila - a manager - answered. I explained the whole situation to which she was very professional, apologetic, and understanding. She looked into it further to discover that the BBQ assemblers didn't even show up the day before.. therefore I should have received a call on Aug.27.24 to discuss rescheduling. Something Melissa failed to share with me. Camila even offered me some compensation on the order for the inconvenience, the treatment I received from Melissa, and the overall lack of accountability on Home Depots part.
All that being said, The BBQ came this morning and works great! Thank you to Camila for calming the situation down, and providing the customer service one would have expected. I understand people have bad days, but it should not be at a...
Read moreYour survey is broken, it won't let me select my profession as "none of the above" because it thinks I've checked off another selection. I even tried selecting different professions to see if it would work to no avail. I tried emailing my complaint but it bounced back so...here it goes.
My experience in the store was terrible, to be honest. It was resolved and when I did get help it was with care and an apology which I appreciate. I was satisfied but I won't go to that location anymore.
Four staff ignored me and didn't even make eye contact and at a time the store wasn't busy. They even heard me tell other customers they should get to see a cashier because I was being ignored and they wouldn't be fair any better.
Your staff should acknowledge everyone even if they are busy and communicate to other staff that a customer has been waiting. They should also ask ALL CUSTOMERS if they are being served.
As a former retail supervisor, this stunk on a whole other level. It's a shame because my interactions with staff at this location have always been stellar.
However, I ordered online so I would spend the least amount of time in the store and I was there much longer than necessary. I have health issues and look after a senior, I'm very cautious about being anywhere for too long.
Your customer service desk is the least customer-oriented compared to the cashiers and department staff I interacted with that day and in general. Your customer service staff were in their little bubbles unaware of one of the few customers standing in front of them! I'd hate to think what happens when it's busy 😬
I sincerely hope this helps and it's really an easy fix. Staff should communicate, acknowledge, and check-in with each other and...
