Usually one of my go-to spots to grab breakfast, but my most previous experience didn’t feel very welcoming.
Had come in early morning to some warm greetings by the waitress, and was seated promptly in a fairly empty dining area. However, it did take a while for the server to come over and take my order, taking orders for a table that had come in several minutes later. Nonetheless, I provided the waitress my order.
After waiting a while, the waitress arrives with my order, and just as soon as I’m about to dig in I realize the order was incorrect. I call the waitress to tell her that the order was wrong, but then she speaks back telling that it was that specific item I ordered. I would remember clearly what I had ordered and could understand the miscommunication (I ordered an eggs florentine with bacon the side, she brought a california benedict), but the tone she brought was very condescending and did not feel welcoming. Regardless she took the plate back to get the correct order in place.
After the meal, I was still awaiting service from the waitress to check out but again had to wait for the waitress to deal with other tables who had not finished their meal as she took their time to check out their tables, leaving me to wait much longer than expected.
Food is good overall, but service was rather disappointing. As a customer who sometimes frequents this location, I’m not too sure if I’ll be returning if the type of friendly, welcoming service is not consistent with all customers. Not to complain with the restaurant overall, but that specific experience has certainly lowered my standards with this location, and will probably look elsewhere for a...
Read moreIt was a disappointment for us this time. This is the 4 th Sunset grill that we tried but, for the first time we had this disappointment with sunset grill.
We entered the restaurant premises around 1 pm and we thought of sitting outside instead of inside. Then after sitting for more than 10 mins without any communication or service or water finally someone came to ask us if we decided the menu.
Anyway we were ready with our favourites and we ordered within 1 min.
We ordered California Benedict and sunset special egg with salmon and 2 fresh brewed coffee ☕.
We were surprised that the food came within 5-6 mins after ordering and we thought that how come they cooked so fast.
But after getting the food we understood what happened. The potatoes were burnt. The bread ( supposedly English muffin) was very tough so we were not able to cut it with 🔪. The bacons of the California Benedict were cold and tough to chew and the egg yolks were not hot from inside.
Which seems that it was prepared earlier for some reason and they just served it. Not sure if was cancelled by someone or if they prepare it in bulk.
But the brunch we expected was not there . Service was late initially and food was bad which made us sad anyway.
They tried to serve coffee twice 2nd time we were not interested as we were alrwady not liking the food.
This was my worst experience in sunset grill as of date after 4 trials. Otherwise I actually like their branch. If you want to see the truth, see the pic I posted with burnt potatoes and the...
Read moreResponse to corporate response: How convenient to ignore everything I wrote and narrow down on one thing? Because in the entire interaction, it was the only part you could find the slightest justification. Even it was not a good justification. A high chair is supposed to be accessible to the parent. If you place it on the other end of the table, how can I feed the child? When I brought it up to your server, I was brushed off. Please go ahead and spin that into a nice corporate response about how I am at fault.
Perhaps you should try again with an honest heartfelt apology instead of trying to justify your staffs behavior toward not wanting to bother serving children.
Save your corporate social media manager apology for someone else.

If you don’t want a toddler to eat at your establishment - post it on the door. From the moment I came in with my 2 year old, the waitress rolled her eyes and made it clear we aren’t welcome.
My asking for a high chair was met with another side look.
Water for the table? Forget it. Smiling for other tables and then changing tone when approaching ours. Wonderful.
My order? Completely wrong but not worth fixing because waitress couldn’t be found.
If you are an elderly table of 6 - expect great service. If you are coming with children,...
