Rachel's Hair Salon — Local services in Vancouver

This place is an ABSOLUTE SCAM. I should’ve listened to my friend who warned me, but I thought I’d be fine just getting a simple haircut. Instead, what I got was a DISASTER. The salon told me it would take an hour, but it was NOTHING like I expected. I wasn’t even welcomed properly when I arrived. The stylist, Rachel, BARELY acknowledged me and didn’t say a word while cutting my hair. It took just a few minutes, and then she INSISTED on doing a blow-dry, even though I only wanted a cut. I agreed, thinking it wouldn't hurt, but then OUT OF NOWHERE, she added curls without asking me. The result was NOTHING like what I asked for.

To make matters worse, they started speaking in Korean with another staff member, then BLAMED my hair texture and PRESSURED me to get a perm. When I refused, they just RUSHED to finish my cut and sent me off. When I washed my hair at home, I realized the lengths were UNEVEN. This whole process was CONFUSING and FRUSTRATING, and I feel COMPLETELY DISRESPECTED.

On top of everything, I didn’t even get the BASIC drinks that other customers received, and then they had the NERVE to charge me OVER $100 without any warning. I didn’t sign up for this. I feel like I’ve been ROBBED. This is a TOTAL RIP-OFF, and I will make sure to leave a review to WARN others about this shady place. I resonate with some of the reviews shared here. Recently, Rachael has been completely ignoring my input and requests regarding my haircut, opting to cut my hair in a style she prefers instead. As a result, I leave the salon far from what I envisioned. Now, I have to wait 2-3 months for my hair to grow back to a manageable length before seeking a haircut from another salon.

Today, she didn't even bother to blow dry my hair. I declined straightening, but she neglected to dry my hair at all, leaving me to walk out with damp locks.

It's quite frustrating when they engage in conversation among themselves in a language I'm not familiar with. They even said something to me, followed by giggles, which felt unprofessional.
