This park must be one of the most loved areas in the city for outdoor activities for the family. There are two main fields one on the east side and one on the west and in between is the community center. Both fields are very large and host baseball and soccer games. VAFC league practice is here so it’s quite busy on the weekends for the kids playing soccer and practicing. The community centre is usually abuzz however with the Covid pandemic it has been noticeably quiet. There are basketball courts in the middle, some sunken concrete areas for the kids to roam around safely as well as a newly renovated and extensive playground with a zip line. If you’re at all interested in an example of skyhigh vancouver real estate, the houses surrounding this park represent this perfectly. Read moreReally disappointed at my first experience at the parents & tots gym. I travelled 30 min to get here and when I went to the front desk the woman asked me if I had registered for drop in, which I hadn’t. Thinking the nature of drop-in was that you don’t have to register. She then said “ok go talk to Sam”. I have never been here, didn’t know where the gym was, or who Sam was. It was incredibly unwelcoming.
When I finally found the gym it was 10:30 and online it said it would be open until 11:00 so I thought I would at least have 30 min to play with my toddler. At 10:45 everything started to be cleaned up and by 10:48 the entire gym was empty of toys.

Read moreWe’re in Vancouver on vacation. We found the community centre near our Airbnb. We never went inside the community centre, which we noticed had a fitness centre, but the massive playground outside it was probably the best we’ve ever been to. Great for all ages, even our two year old little girl.
There’s also a huge, tree lined, park with lots of space to play your chosen sport (a baseball diamond on one end), or meditate like the dude sitting right beside the playground full of screaming kids. If there’s a way to test your mindfulness, that’s it.
