Went hunting for beef brisket. Not super familiar with cuts of beef and definitely an amateur cook. Literally making my first ever slow cooker beef brisket dish. Anyway, shop was VERY clean and organized. The person at the counter was VERY nice. Willing to answer some of my amateur questions. The only area I was a tad disappointed by was not having a beef brisket that was grass-fed and grass-finished. Now, before any of you read me the riot act, I understand that some argue grain-finished has a better taste. I was also hoping for strictly pasture raised, but they did not know where it was or not. In the end, I bought four pounds. Next time, I'm going to search for a butcher where they know everything about the cattle they sell and where it comes from. This is personal preference so if that is not as important to you, I don't see any reason why you shouldn't give these folks a try.
I really enjoyed their customer service and I'll probably go back...
Read moreFriend Johnny, who's an actor who used to work here. He highly recommended this place and I've been there a few times they used to be great wow what a change a year makes all the old butchers are gone. They've been replaced with totally new people that are incompetent. On top of that, the two pepperoni sticks that were together used to cost $4 a few weeks ago. Now one of them because they've cut them in two cost $3.90. wow, what an increase. Careful what you buy here. The prices are really shot up. It's too bad it's not the same place used to have a lot of magic won't be going back that's for sure. Was in there last week and the gal was arguing with me about the pricing I didn't stick around to buy anything else. I was going to buy a whole bunch of me but when I saw the price to the peso only stick to a double. I got the idea. Yeah yeah whatever blame it on inflation that's the case. Price is in Costco with a double or triple too and...
Read moreAlways get very good quality meat. The staff are usually nice but I have to say that today wasn’t a great customer experience. I asked for a specific beef cut and asked if they had it 100% grass fed. They didn’t, which is fine but then the employee asked the reason I wanted it 100% grass fed. I said I don’t eat grain and don’t want to eat something that eat grain. That being said, my explanation was poor but he started telling me why I was wrong and even a customer started getting in also to tell me I was wrong. I felt completely judge for no reason... Aren’t we even allowed to ask??? I mean they have it for the steak so why not ask in case??? I don’t think beef is meant to eat grains... that’s it. If you don’t have it, that’s fine, I’ll take what you have but I think I shouldn’t feel judge to ask since it is my preference. Anyways, that was just uncomfortable and now I’m not feeling good...
