Ok, I don't rate everything 5 out of 5. But I do enjoy taking time to post something I do feel it's a must-go or a must-don't. This is definitely a must-go! If you're a Pho eater, you know the soup needs to be hot. The stone bowl sold me, but this isn't the first place I had it. I went to Vietnam last year and there was a famous Pho place that was 3 floors that had this type of stone bowl idea. It kept the soup hot, and rare beef ready to cook one slice at a time. It might be kind of pricy to some as most Pho is half the price, BUT it's not regular beef, it's wagyu. So it justifies it. Atmosphere is fusion type, so it's not your regular down the street type Pho chains or individual places. Prices are similar, but my mission to go there is just for the stone bowl wagyu. Who I believe was the manager (young man) was really keen on customer service, something I didn't expect because it's not usually their strengths, more the food, but it really suited the fusion vibe, more westernized. I went there once, then the same week, brought a party of 11. That was how good it was for myself to promote immediately. A couple of incidents happened though, one good, one bad. The bad wasn't enough to take a star away but hoped someone would read this and make a change.

The good incident, the stone bowl was extremely hot and of course the soup was bubbling, the waiter burnt himself while trying to place it between 2 ppl and flinched, spilling a small amount of soup on their clothes along with his own arm which was devastating. He did yell out in pain for a second, which luckily he did or the others wouldn't have known to flinch away, but he continued to slowly place the bowl to ensure safety of others. I give him 10000% respect and if he's reading this, not many could've placed it, dropping it would be more of a natural replex. That being said, I thank you sincerely for my family. Very professional and I was watching him after to make sure he was still ok to work which he did. Thank goodness.

Bad incident, the escargot I ordered which is one of my favorite, came with bread which was to dip into the garlic butter sauce it came with. The bread was still on the table but the lady waitress took the bowl away and I was left with a plain bread... That took away like half the serving! But this still wasn't enough to lose a star. I'm sure I could've caught it next time and ask not to take it away. Next thing, which is also not a big deal, maybe not have non-English speaking servers would help the communication part, because a few times, asking for something was ignored, which after the 3rd try, I understood that there was a language barrier. Kind of confusing with the fusion but not at the same time.

Overall, I can't wait to go back. End...

New owners Is new higher prices Everything is shunk down by 25% as well I ordered the spicy beef soup and it was neither here nor there it wasn't great tasting We had their rice rolls that was very good but they've taken out about 50% of the filling it wasn't super expensive but it wasn't super big My brother had the chicken with Thai basil with ginger and it wasn't as good as it used to be it was probably about 30% smaller and the price went up I don't know if it was a dollar or 2 My father had the seafood soup and the squid you couldn't chew it to save your life We also had a order of a scargo with the patay it was good but it wasn't as good as it used to be and it definitely needed more garlic butter with it My brother also had a coffee and he says that was very good Would I go back I don't know there's a lot of other places before it was one of our favorite places to go to they either need to lower the prices or increase the amount of food they're giving Don't do both don't lower the prices and then decrease the amount of food it's a double hit It was about 77 or $78 for dinner Was it worth it I don't think so The way it was very good but he never came back to see if anything it was all right They forgot the bean sprouts with their soup and the chili peppers and the basil We have to remind them On a Saturday night at around 715 they should have been 3/4 full at least half and they weren't We did let them know that the food wasn't as good What they really should have done is they should have either offered us something whether it was 10% off or please come next time I will give you a ball a super free I don't think that they're gonna be very successful if they keep up with that Also I hate it with a passion when you go to a restaurant and there drinks they have no prices on it I probably would have ordered so if they've been in prices but there wasn't Not only their alcohol but they're not alcohol drums...

Cambie Vietnamese Restaurant is your Local Vietnamese family-run restaurant in downtown Vancouver. After reading many reviews, I went in with high expectations only to come out disappointed. We walked into an empty restaurant and was greeted by the owner, who was the only waiting staff on shift at the moment. At the restaurant, my girlfriend and I ordered the prawn supreme on sugar cane, lemongrass chicken with rice, and a rare beef pho. The prawn supreme was seasoned pounded shrimp wrapped around a piece of sugarcane and roasted. Having eaten it, I felt like the sugarcane did not add much to the pounded prawns, as I would expect it to bring out the sweetness of the prawns. To me, the sugarcane prawns were nothing spectacular and did not wow or surprise me. On the other hand, the lemongrass chicken lacked depth in flavor, especially from the lemongrass. What was more disappointing was that the rice that came with it was wet, mushy, and watery. It was not pleasant to eat, as this was the first time I did not finish my rice in a Vietnamese restaurant. Lastly, when the pho came, the first thing I noticed was puddles of oil on top. It looked like they drizzled oil on top of the pho. I have never seen a bowl of pho with so much oil. In addition, the soup lacked the heartiness and beefiness a bowl of pho should have. Overall, I was quite disappointed with the quality of the food presented to me during my visit to the restaurant. Perhaps it was because of Covid that the restaurant decided to lower its standards and cheapen out. The only thing I was content with was the prices, which are reasonable for a Vietnamese restaurant...

Cambie Vietnamese has been around for 31 years. I love this family restaurant. The headwaiter, “Hello, My Brother” Brian, is one of the most genuine, authentic, and a lifetime dedicated customer-service-oriented pro-server you can ever get in Vancouver. Their beef pho has always been fantastic and recommended many times repeatedly already. I love their pho. So, today I will write a review about their other non-pho dishes. Tonight we ordered six dishes for the three of us: escargot with buttered toasts, steamed rice crepes, spring rolls, pork salad roll, Vietnamese fried noodles, 1 Kokanee and grilled chicken fried rice. Every dish was awesome. Consistently great is their secret. The bill came to $61.00. Come on, really!!!!! I have run into Brian buying bags of cilantro at T&T and Fruiticana several times in the past. They buy at retail and yet charge us crazy reasonable prices for their dishes. I don’t know how they lasted so long. They are honest, hard-working entrepreneurs, who live in the community, buy from the community and serve the community type of genuine local folks. Come eat here. You will not regret it.
