Maritime Square 1 — Local services in Hong Kong

[Indoor playground for babies] For those with young children, there’s a gameroom/indoor playground on Level 1 called Nobi Nobi. They’ve got all sorts of games for toddlers/children to enjoy, and also an indoor playground. The playground is simple but safe (with cushions in all the right places), and cheap considering HK playroom prices. The A/C was not so strong when we went, so I was sweating wearing long jeans.

On weekends, about HK$160 covers 1 adult+ 1 child for 2 hours! You can freely exit and re-enter the premises within your given time slot. Additional adults cost about hk$50. I say ‘about’ because the currency is in ‘game money’ which you must purchase by showing a valid ID and paying hk$10 for the membership card. All persons must wear a mask in the playground, if not, there’s a penalty of $50 (again, game money). My boy had a great time there!

The M&S in this mall is quite large with a wide selection of fresh foods, bakery and household items. The grocery store, Taste, is big too, with a variety of Japanese and Korean brand food items that are worth splurging on. For a 'residential' mall with several adjacent estates, Maritime Square seems appropriate, given the large number of restaurants there, a large taste supermarket, and the usual and ubiquitous shops. But the layout of the mall is not very user friendly. It is a very high traffic mall, being connected to the airport express and the Tung Chung line, and serving so many residential estates. Thus it is often overcrowded and noisy. The access to the MTR is also very unfriendly, as you need to go to different floors, depending on the line and the direction you want to take. This is a large shopping mall with plenty of fashion boutiques from the inexpensive to the pricier popular brands. This place also has a lot of eating options from cafes to kiosks to restaurants offering a variety of cuisines. This is a good place to people watch while having coffee to spot the latest trends. The toilets here have been renovated and have been made easier for people with disabilities.
