The word mall is a bit deceiving here, you should know that before you go. This isn't a regular shopping mall like you'd expect. The Fount is basically a medical center disguised as a mall. First and second floors are packed with clinics. Ground floor has a pharmacy and Sarai Market, the famous supermarket from Alexandria, plus a few other stores I can't recall. I've been here seven or eight times in the last 4 months. First time for a dentist appointment, second time for a chiropractor. Walking through the corridors, I noticed there are tons of medical professionals here. Dentists, ophthalmologists, dietitians, physiotherapists, psychiatrists, you name it. Now let's talk about the design choices. Some genius interior designer decided to put shiny black tiles on the floor. Every single footstep leaves a mark. Worst tile selection ever. The mall management had to hire someone to constantly mop the floor. Poor guy finishes one end and has to start over because footsteps are everywhere by then. I've seen him make this loop three times during a single visit. The corridors aren't pretty at all. Each clinic put up a different door or flashy sign which makes everything look chaotic. No cohesive design whatsoever. Waiting seats in the corridors are uncomfortable. Hope your appointment doesn't run late because after 15 minutes your butt will be completely numb. When you first enter there's a reception desk with nobody sitting there. Looks like an afterthought to fill empty space. But here's something great. The designer included a smoking room on every floor. Never seen this anywhere else in Cairo. Smart touch for a medical building, actually. The bathrooms are always clean with toilet paper and hand towels stocked. That's more than you can say for most places. Parking on the street is easy and free which is a huge plus. There's a Talabat center on the basement of the building so expect motorcycles flying around like crazy. They park on both sides of the street too. Is it pretty? No. Is it functional? Absolutely. If you need to see a medical professional, chances are they're somewhere in...
