I visited this place for two consecutive days with my family after reading the positive reviews, but unfortunately, our experience was far from what we expected.
The Turkish coffee was of very poor quality (I gave it a second chance and ordered it twice ā still awful), and the lemon mint juice was basically just water with a hint of mint.
The real shock came on my third visit. The waiter, Youssef, who had served us or saw us the two days before and clearly recognized us, suddenly informed us after taking our order that thereās a minimum charge of EGP 750 per person. This was never communicated before not on our previous visit, not on the menu, and not by staff until after we were seated and had ordered.
When I expressed surprise, he suggested I take my drink to go as if we were no longer welcome to sit. After some back and forth, he said ājust this timeā we could stay after checking with his manager. At this point, I chose to leave.
What added to the discomfort was noticing three other tables drinking alcohol, which made me question if the issue was not really about a minimum charge, but rather because I wear a hijab which was welcomed the past 2 days as I did not notice that many was drinking. Today I felt unwelcome and disrespected and was deeply upsetting experience, especially as someone visiting from Melbourne, Australia where my hijab is treated with far more respect than what I experienced here in Algouna,Egypt!
Such treatment is unacceptable and disappointing. I strongly urge management to address transparent communication and to ensure that all customers regardless of appearance or background are treated professionally and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreZouni Beach presents itself as a beautiful destination, but my recent experience left much to be desired, primarily due to the entrance fee policies and the attitude of the staff.
Upon arrival, we were surprised by the hefty entrance fee, particularly the minimum charge enforced for four persons, regardless of our group size. As a couple, we found this policy quite unreasonable. It felt as though we were being forced to pay for additional guests, which is not only frustrating but also seems to disregard basic customer service principles.
The situation was exacerbated by the aggressive demeanor of the entrance staff. Rather than addressing our concerns, they were dismissive and unhelpful. When we attempted to discuss our grievances, the owner made it clear that he felt entitled to set his own rules, stating, "this is my place and I am free to charge whatever amount I see suitable for my interest." Such a lack of consideration for customer feedback is troubling and reflects a broader issue regarding customer care in the tourism industry.
This disregard for customer satisfaction not only tarnishes the experience but also poses a risk to the long-term viability of the beach as a tourist destination. If visitors feel taken advantage of or mistreated, they are unlikely to return or recommend the location to others.
In conclusion, while Zouni Beach may offer scenic beauty, the entrance fee policies and the attitude of the staff significantly detract from the experience. I hope the management reconsiders their approach, as fostering a welcoming atmosphere is essential for attracting and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had very high expectations for this place, but honestly, it was one of the worst experiences Iāve ever had. ⢠The only good thing was the cashier, who was polite and respectful. But sadly, that was the only positive part. ⢠When we arrived, the sunbed was very dirty, and they only cleaned it after we complained. That is not acceptable at all a clean setup should be ready before any guest arrives. ⢠A staff member (captain) came and explained that we should order everything by scanning a QR code and using their app. At first, it sounded modern and easy. But in reality, it was a complete failure. ⢠We placed our order on the app 5 or 6 times with no response. We kept waiting and waiting, but no one came. Even when someone finally noticed, the service was extremely slow. ⢠Believe it or not, we waited over 30 minutes just for water. Thatās not just bad service itās disrespectful. ⢠Many times, we had to call out to random staff walking near us just to ask for help. They were either ignoring us or not trained well. ⢠And when the food finally came, it was a huge disappointment. Low quality, bad taste, and definitely not worth the money. ⢠For a place that charges premium prices, I expected way better. Clean towels and a nice beach are not enough to make this a good experience.
My final opinion: This place looks good from the outside, but the service is terrible, the app system is broken, the food is bad, and the staff is unprofessional. Honestly, it felt like they just donāt care. I donāt recommend this place to anyone. I left feeling angry and regretful. Total waste of...
