I went to the VIP Cinema so my review is entirely about this experience. The recliner seats are huge with so much space between the seats and tea tables in between. I went there with a friend so I didn't quite appreciate the wide space as I would have if I was going solo. The screen is super large, so I wouldn't recommend the front seats. The seats at the back are the best or you may select the middle row where I sat, which was still OK. There is a 5 minute rest in the middle of the show, which I resented! We are not still in the nineties folks, are we? There are 2 systems that recline your seat one moves horizontally under your thighs and the other reclines the back. It is complicated and it can get awkward as it is also a little too noisy. They really didn't need to go that far to make us feel comfortable. After we finished the movie, I found that there was a direct access from the street to the VIP cinema entrance. This would save us going through the busy shopping mall. Look out for this entrance on the left handside when you arrive at the gates of the...
Read moreComparing this to the premium cinema experience in other places, this one is sub-par. 1. The seating area outside is not big enough for everyone to find a seat while waiting for their movie. 2. All movies run at the same times instead of being staggered, which means either the lounge is heavily crowded or completely empty. 3. In spite of their relatively hefty prices, they don't accept credit card! You're in the biggest mall in Egypt buying tickets for the most premium cinema in Egypt, but they accept cash only. What a joke. 4. The popcorn stand is so low level and sub-standard and tou have to stand in row like any normal cinema and carry in your own items. 5. There is no blanket and pillow provided. If you're gonna label this a VIP cinemas and sell the seat for 170 pounds a pop, walk the walk. What an underwhelming and...
Read moreStarting with food, the popcorn offered is often very stale and overpriced. Other items such as nachos, chicken popcorn, and even hotdogs, but they are often of sub-par quality. Other cinemas have better food overall.
Regarding the theaters themselves, they are usually clean and well maintained, although I do occasionally find my seat crusted with cheese powder or smelling of spilled drinks, but that is a rarity. The screens are of the highest resolution on offer, on par with competing cinemas, and MAX screenings are also offered. The ticket prices are more expensive than competitors, and they fluctuate from time to time, especially from weekdays to weekends. This is also one of the most crowded cinemas in Egypt, so previous planning is a must to guarantee that you get your...
