I had the pleasure of dining here recently, and I must say, the entire experience was nothing short of fantastic. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a comforting authenticity that immediately made me feel like I was in one of those old, beloved neighborhood spots where the food speaks for itself.
Let me start with the eggs — they were exactly how I ordered them, which is something I truly appreciate. So often, small details get overlooked, but not here. The eggs were perfectly cooked, flavorful, and served just the way I like them. That kind of attention to detail always stands out.
But the real star of the show for me was the foul bel samna. It tasted just like the kind of foul you’d get from an original, traditional place — rich, hearty, and deeply satisfying. The samna gave it a beautiful depth of flavor that brought a nostalgic touch to every bite. It reminded me of the kind of homemade breakfast you’d get at a family gathering — simple, but made with love and intention.
The falafel was another highlight. Fresh, hot, and perfectly crispy on the outside while staying light and fluffy inside. You could tell it was made fresh to order — none of that reheated or overly dense stuff. Each bite had the perfect crunch and was full of vibrant, herby flavor.
Service was also top-notch. The staff was friendly, attentive, and genuinely cared about making sure everything was just right. It’s rare to find a place where you feel taken care of without the experience feeling forced — here, the hospitality felt genuine.
Overall, it was a very pleasant experience from start to finish. Whether you’re in the mood for a hearty traditional breakfast or just craving something comforting and delicious, this spot is absolutely worth a visit. I’ll definitely be coming back — and bringing friends with...
Read moreAn absolute haven for food connoisseurs!! Quality is the key theme here from the choice of ingredients, to the mastery of culinary craftsmanship in the kitchen, to the plating/presentation, to the atmosphere & staff engagement and friendly service. This place is a literal "gem" at Cairo Festival City, which has so many "hyped" restaurants and as many disappointments. The Eatery's menu is thoughtfully laid out and includes a massive amount of dishes to choose from. Some of their creations are "visual feasts" like the Pineapple Shrimps which must be photographed 40 times and posted on 5 social media pages before one musters the courage to put a fork in it. There are exquisite steaks to choose from but I highly recommend the Sea Salt Beef which was quite thick yet juicy through and through. The Grilled Salmon & Salmon Teriyaki are phenomenal. The portions are generous and adequately filling. Desserts here are something really special and great for family sharing, and a perfect choice would be their banana bread with Mascarpone cheese and poached pear on top, which really cannot be described in words, so must be tasted to be appreciated. This place is what weekend family brunch was invented for, and "happiness" is what is really being provided here. The prices are what you would expect for premium food & service, so expect to pay around LE 300-400 per person for a full 3 course meal, which is a bargain for the experience one gets. This is as good as it gets for upscale casual dining in Cairo. A well-deserved 5 STAR...
Read moreAgain, another expensive restaurant with mediocre food. I've tried this place 3 times and they have unstable quality standards. The one time I enjoyed what I had was when I ordered a salad and it was mid-week. Weekends are busy and it greatly affects the food quality and service. For the asking price of food here, one does not expect rookie mistakes like undercooked food. I got an undercooked burger, last time, and while the manager was very polite and apologized profusely, offering to get me another burger, I refused. He served us 2 complimentary desserts which were very good if you're a dessert aficionado. I lack a sweet tooth, so it didn't do much for me. The 2 stars are for the layout of the place and for the manager's polite handling, although it doesn't change my mind. This place is not a choice I think of when I want to eat out.
Update: Against my best instincts, I went ahead and decided to eat here again with friends. I ordered a tomato soup and grilled chicken peach salad. The salad was basically a greens salad with added grilled chicken, avocado, mushrooms and peaches. For a restaurant boasting of locally sourced, natural, homegrown, healthy ingredients, you wouldn't expect the mushrooms and peaches to be canned. That's just plain cheap and deceptive. Especially for the hefty price...
