We met Ahmed Saad who worked at our hotel as a sales representative of Sky Red Sea.
Ahmed is a great chap who we really enjoyed speaking with. Never pushy and respectful of boundaries. Our children were a little hesitant to go out on the open sea but Ahmed sat down and explained everything in great detail and they felt very comforted. So we decided to book with him.
Red Sky Sea had a couple of different packages on offer. We decided to take the Dolphin and snorkelling trip.
On the day of the trip, we were due to be collected between 08:00 -08:20. We arrived in the reception at 08:00. We were collected at approx. 09:15. The service we received from the Sky Red Sea admin / support / logistics team was shambolic.
We were told a number of lies and half truths. Unfortunately, Ahmed was away on holiday this day and was not reachable. I am sure he would have made the right arrangements. He was massively let down by his team. I would not go on another trip unless I knew the representative would be in the reception or present on the day of the trip to avoid this issue.
No once did the office call back as promised. I was the one who had to keep calling!
We are told "The bus came to collect you but you weren't in reception" Confirmed by reception staff that no representative from Sky Red Sea had made themselves known prior to us arriving in reception.
"The bus is on it's way after collecting other guests" The bus was never on it's way, it went straight from the other hotel to the Marina. Confirmed by the other guests. Never a mention that another stop was needed to collect us.
After a lot of chasing and arguing and on the verge of cancelling we were collected by a cab that was booked 10min prior to arriving. I found out he had only just been called as I scolded him for being late. To top it off, he had a normal size car, suitable for 1 driver and 4 passengers. The problem was he had his 4 year old daughter with him and there were 4 of us.
After a lot protesting and assurance, we departed with his daughter sat in his (the drivers) lap as we made our way to the Marina. Absolutely crazy!
It was also evident that we had been forgotten as on our return, there were not enough seats on the bus. This mean that other guests had to sit on each other's lap to accommodate us. Not acceptable.
We arrived at the docks and boarded the boat. The 20 or so other guests seemingly annoyed that we were late as they had been waiting for a long time. This resulted in a lack of space on the boat and we had to share seating with other guests. This was not a problem in the end as we had some lovely fellow passengers.
First stop was the Dolphins. If you were a strong swimmer you could snorkel and view the dolphins in their natural environment. It was a challenging swim and I only recommend it for confident swimmers. We saw a pod of approx. 10 dolphins swimming along the sea bed and jumping out of the water. This was fantastic! Even those who were not swimming got a really good view. They say it's approx. 90-95% certain you'll see dolphins on the trip.
Next stop was 1 of 2 45min snorkelling stops. This was around a relatively sizeable reef. The water was calm and the guides were great. They had some lifebuoy's that younger and less comfortable swimmers could hold onto which were 'dragged' by the guides around the reef. We saw some wonderful sea life.
Stop 2 was a larger reef with more Sealife. Again, the guides were great and provided a lot of support and information.
The water was actually warm and very pleasant to swim in. Even my children who normally feel very cold were comfortable.
Next on the agenda was lunch. There was a small buffet which was nice with a few different meat options, rice, pasta and salad. The food won't win any prizes but it was ok.
Final stop was banana and sofa boat rides. This was good fun!
The boat itself was in good condition and so was all the equipment they provided. Masks, flippers and life vests. The toilets were a little tired and could do with some maintenance. ...
Read moreIf Sky Read Sea Windsurf & Kiteboarding belongs to Sky Red Sea Diving & Aqua Center then shame on you. Sky Read Sea Windsurf & Kiteboarding is money greedy. If you do not want to pay money for service that you do not need they are unfiendly, they lie to you like the Taxi mafia or the tourist shop mafia. Do not book at Sky Read Sea Windsurf & Kiteboarding doesn't not matter where. At Pickalbatros Palace and Beach I saw they have old or broken boards/equipment and are just friendly if they think they have a chance of getting money from you. I made that experience by my own. So this is a fact and not just a bad review.
Anwer to the response: "I can read how hardly you are expressing your emotions on this platform in such a tremendous way." Yes, because I was angry due to the scam try
"As you know, we did our best to accommodate your kiteboarding needs." Yes and I said friendly I do not need anything.
"Our staff are always in any position to place safety regulation when you cross up to the limit, and we try to guide you and make sure you have the best and safest experience." I am sure you can. But only on place where you have authority. And I was at a place where you hadn't.
"Even if a person is professional we have to make sure that you are guided safely." I had no course at your shop. I was an own equiped kiter on a beach that doesn't belong to the Hotel. So I was free to go.
"It is unfair to mentioned in general specially if your experiences not at one place. I can feel your hatred towards everyone, I guess you are having a really bad day." I said the place was Pickalbatros Palace and Beach. I am not hatered to everyone, only to the guy who tried to scam me and wasted my time. Yes that made a bad day for me, indeed.
"You need to control your anger management. Chill!" You need to control scam management, I...
Read moreOverpriced & Pushy – Avoid Egypt Explorer at Pickalbatros White Beach
This place is extremely overpriced and not worth the money. The Egypt Explorer team operates inside the Pickalbatros White Beach resort and constantly tries to upsell and push tourists into booking expensive packages — even if you’re not interested. Their salespeople are everywhere around the hotel and will keep chasing you to book something.
They claim higher prices are justified because they operate inside the resort, but the reality is you can book the exact same experiences outside for a fraction of the cost. For example, they quoted EUR 440 for a short 5-minute dolphin swim/ and show for a family of four — something that costs EUR 168 -190 elsewhere. Even the most expensive options outside rarely go above EUR 200.
The manager, Mr. Diaa, was unprofessional — always on his phone, treating his staff poorly, and being dismissive with guests. Overall, it was a frustrating experience. I highly recommend booking excursions with reputable providers...
