I would say that the only thing that was good at Hapi Hotel was it's polite staff. Now that the good things are out of the way, let's talk about what it's like to stay at Hapi hotel. If you don't want to read further than in short it's like the horse manure that fills your nostrils when you're outside the hotel. I don't understand how this Hotel gets a 3-star rating at most sites. Probably a paid thing. We were in what I was told by the staff was a Superior triple room. I don't even want to imagine what horrors await in the non Superior rooms.
Our Superior room had a certain old world bedouin charm to it. The decades old carpet was way past it's youthful days, the three twin beds were like siblings grudgingly sharing a crowded room. The beds had seen better days and the scars of battle showed in the scratches and peeled off paint. When you lie down in the bed, they creak like an old person in pain. I could feel the spring in the mattress all night long. We also saw another room while passing by and jeaouesly noticed that that room was spared the carpet.
Bathroom is another joke worth telling. Imagine the toilet in an airplane and just add a 3ftx3ft square for bath area. Some rooms have a bathtub, our Superior room did not. Some rooms have a balcony but our Superior room did not. There are no hand towels in the bathroom.
Also there is no coffee/tea/water in the room. If you want coffee outside the breakfast time, then you need to go to the lobby and pay for it. In short, pictures and reviews on booking sites don't tell the full story. I wouldn't recommend staying at Hapi hotel. It's worth $40/50 per night and should ideally be called a hostel. I would say you get what you pay for, but for over $100 per night I expected more from a Superior room and was thoroughly...
Read moreAfter check-in, we went to our room which was clean for the most part but outdated and in need of a major renovation. After settling in, we went to the reception to inquire about local tours and pricing. We received options and pricing by the clerk who was on duty that evening. In the morning, we were greeted by two different clerks...Ana and another female who was her superior. We were told that the previous clerk was new and quoted us an incorrect amount. There was no apology or verification of information from the previous employee. Ana, who I spoke with initially was very dismissive and inflexible. I told Ana that usually whenever there is a discrepancy in pricing the lower amount is honored. She was still inflexible. I asked about getting a clothing iron to which she said that they did not have. Still very cold and dismissive. I decided at that time that I was not satisfied with the service and chose to check out. At this time, Ana's superior decided to intervene. I told her that I was dissatisfied with the service and decided to check out. Suddenly, we were given a variety of tour options, the original price quoted was honored, received list with laundry services and room upgrade. Ana's superior lied and said that I could not get a receipt for the 1 day stay. Unbeknownst to her, Ana handed it to me then tried to attack us to get it back after her superior spoke in Arabic and told her to take it back. We took a picture, handed it back, then left. Tourist...

Amenities included bar soaps and shampoo sachets.|The wifi was free but a little weak and could be improved. Our room was ready so they kindly checked us in earlier.|Yes, the street/block where the hotel is located is quite dirty and trashed, but unfortunately I’ve seen this here and there throughout the town. The hotel front area/entrance however was always clean.|Some complained about the noise late at night, but that’s the life style here. If you go to the souk in the morning, it’s quiet and desert. |Overall, they delivered what we paid for and it was a...
