Beki and Sisay took us up to the mountaintop of Entoto to make injera, eat a delicious homemade snack, and go for a little walk to a citywide vista of Addis Ababa. They were informative and fun guides, educating us about the history and geography of Addis and Ethiopia as a whole (in between some dancing). After some hard bargaining for a traditional shirt I wore to my friend’s wedding the next day and lunch at the oldest restaurant in Addis (where we learned about how tej — the traditional local honey wine — is made), we reached the Mercato, a massive outdoor market. Beki and Sisay took us through dozens of stalls, showing us a massive cross-section of the spices, cooking ingredients, and hodgepodge of items that people from all over Ethiopia come to buy. All along the way we learned about the history, culture, and economy of the market and Ethiopia as a whole. It was a really memorable experience. I was particularly peppering Sisay with questions for the entire market trip and he gamely answered. We had an epic week-long trip to Addis and the market tour was one of the most memorable highlights. Can’t recommend...

A Blissful Day with Sisay: What a delightful day outside Addis Ababa! Just a few hours' drive took us to a charming village near the Entoto Mountains. The people there were incredibly kind and welcoming; they invited us to cook and make injera together. They also brewed us traditional Ethiopian coffee, and we thoroughly enjoyed every activity. Our guide, Sisay, shared fascinating stories about the history of coffee and the cultural significance of gathering for coffee time. We were amazed by Sisay's extensive knowledge of this beautiful country, and his sense of humor added so much joy to our experience. Ethiopia is a place that truly captivates with its rich culture, delicious food, and warm-hearted people. We can’t wait to return for a longer adventure, and without a doubt, Adefa Tours will be our choice. Thank you, Sisay and the Adefa Tours team, for such a wonderful day...

Exemplary Guide: Expertise, Safety, and Service Excellence. Our guide, Sisay, provided an exceptional experience throughout our journey. With excellent English skills, they effectively communicated the rich history and culture of the places we visited, making the tour both educational and engaging. Their extensive knowledge added depth to our exploration, ensuring we gained a deeper understanding of each destination. I highly recommend Adefa Tours! I ended up coming to Addis last minute with only 5 days to spend in Ethiopia. I was concerned that I wouldn't have enough time to really connect with the place, culture, and people as deeply as I like to. I signed up for a tour with Sisay on a whim and learned *so* much in just a few short hours. He is so knowledgeable about the many waves of history, is wonderful with people, and responsive to his clients' needs. He has wonderful energy and takes the best photos! I had so much fun and learned far more than I knew was possiblr in such a short time. I feel blessed that Sisay curated my initial introduction to Ethiopia. He fast tracked me! You will not be disappointed!!
