Restaurant Ranch — Local services in Kajaani sub-region

We often visit this restaurant when traveling for work and usually recommend it to others, as both the food and service have been good.

However, today I found a fruit fly in my beer after I had already drunk part of it. When I told the server, she asked whether the fly had been there from the start. I said I didn’t know. I then asked if I could at least have the rest of the beer replaced, but she said no because it would mean opening a new can. There was also no apology.

I know it isn’t the restaurant’s fault that a fly landed in the drink, but isn’t it usually considered good service to replace it? A small gesture like that goes a long way in making guests feel looked after.

Hopefully this feedback helps improve the experience for future visitors, because otherwise this has been a place...

We went to eat at the ranch today. We are originally from Switzerland and spend our vacations in Vaala. We read about the restaurant today when I was looking for a place to eat. So we drove one Hour with car to this location.. We had a fantastic meal, the portion was so big that the two of us didn't finish it and were able to take the leftovers home with us. The service staff were super nice and were able to give us good advice and information in English. The brisket and chicken strips...

Lounasaika, paikka aika tyhjillään. Oltiin 7 hengen ryhmänä syömässä isämme siunaustilaisuuden jälkeen. Tilauksen ottaminen kesti. Tarjolla lounaan lisäksi (fish&chips ja joku kukkakaalikasvis) suppea a la carte lista. Lounaaseen kuului salaattipöytä, mutta a la carte syöjille se olisi maksanut 5€ lisää?!? En ole muualla törmännyt moiseen. A la carte listaan päädyttiin. Sieltä muutama otti 20€ burgerin ja eipä ollut hintansa arvoinen, suorastaan säälittävä esitys. Lisäksi kypsyysasteet pihville ei menneet sovitusti. Kun asiasta teki reklamaation, niin tarjoilija haukkui asiakasta kaikkien kuullen vuedessään asiaa eteenpäin. Eikä reklamaatiolle tapahtunut mitään, ennenkuin lopulta vein pihvin tiskille ja kysyin miten hyvitätte mokan. Ja taas kesti. Muiden pihviannokset oli hintaansa nähden pieniä, hinnoittelu epäselvä, eikä käynyt listasta selville? Jälkiruoka taas sai aikaan naurua. Mangomoussea kulhon pohjalla max.ruokalusikallinen. Tämä ravintola on nähty, ei muuta hyvää sanottavaa kuin, että oli tilaa syödä...
