Horrible staff. Early in the evening I bought a few bottles of water and a paper bag in the other Utile store in town. After visiting Grand Cafe in the Lices avenue I decided to get some snack and looked for a shop and discovered this branch just down the street. I went straight in and straight to the snack section which is the first row after the entrance, took a bag of snacks and went straight to the till. I put the snack bag on the till and also showed the woman behind the till my paper bag with a few bottles of water from the other Utile store, and said I had bought it in the other store. Suddenly she said I had to pay for the bottles and paper bag I just brought in, « the bag is from my store» she said very very unpolitely. It was absurd, she asked me to show the receipt. I did not receive any receipe from the other Utile store, I explained, but she kept on nagging about the bag and the bottles as if I just picked up it all in this store. In fact she behaved like this bag with water bottles was something I just picked up in this store and was going to pay. Why would I have a paper bag with the Utile logo if I had not already bought it? The paper bags were stored behind the counter- so why did she say this bag was from «her» store? And that I must pay for the bag and the bottles I just brought in? WHY- I may ask now, why don’t they give customers receipes if they have this crazy policy? The woman ( latino look, long dark hair, 30’s maybe ) was extremely rude and the whole situation was absurd. Luckily at the right moment I got out of the store with my bottles and bag without that mean till worder being able to force me to pay twice for the same goods. She was actually trying to scam me to pay twice. This was an awful experience, which I immediately told to my family (« get away from that town asap»), and to the hotel reception staff at the hotel I was staying ( who said this till worker was crazy and it was not normal behaviour in shops in Arles. Besides it is not custom to give receipes when you pay cash, the reception staff told me. I woun’t set my foot in this store again, and neither any othe Utile I come across on my journey. This experience also gave me as a visitor a bad impression of Arles. Shame on you Utile staff. With that kind of staff I would not be surprised if this store looses most customers and goes bankrupt in the...
Read moreI bought yogurt but they didn't provide a spoon, so I had to go back. When I asked for a spoon, the person said, 'I said hello, why didn't you say hello? Don't you know English?' and said something inappropriate, which made me angry. And when I asked for a disposable spoon, they said I had to pay for it. She was a woman with long hair and glasses. Very unfriendly and made me feel bad. She should work at a mart for the rest...
