Jardin des Arts - Restaurant Arles — Restaurant in Arles

I’m amazed at the high reviews for this restaurant. I’m writing this review as I sit here waiting for water that has never arrived and the most inattentive waiter I’ve had anywhere. By the way, I live in Europe so I fully understand European service and this is not it!! We will make allowance for that and accept that perhaps they are understaffed tonight. But the food.....perhaps we would have had a better experience if we stuck to the French dishes on the menu but the Italian dishes don’t resemble anything like Italian food. My suggestion is try somewhere else. However if you are drawn in by the beautiful looking ambiance like a fly is drawn to a light please stick to the French dishes! Service is good but the price is too high for such ordinary cuisine. We ordered veal and bull, each of them is 32€ . I understand the the portions are really big , but we were never told it’s huge that one dish could be shared by 2 people, and the taste is too boring and ordinary without good design. And also the wine is really not good quality while it takes 8€ each glass . Anyway this is a really unpleasant experience and the worst value for money . It cause me don’t want to eat anything related to beef in a month . We could eat Michelin level cuisine in Paris for the same price for Lunch, and 32€ could be a lunch package price ( Starter + Main Course + Dessert) , rather than 1 dish in...

I've been in France for exactly one week now. Mostly in Paris, a bit in Lyon, and now Arles. Jardin Des Arts is the best restaurant experience I've had so far. The food was delicious. I highly recommend the Daube de Taureau and Entrecote Di Bosco Saignant. Also, order the house special chocolate fondant ahead of time. It was cooked perfectly. By far the best service I've had so far in France. Sidonie was an amazing server. She spoke English very well (my French is almost zero,) gave great recommendations, was super friendly, and made sure to check to make sure we were enjoying everything.
