This is a contemporary art gallery full of strange things that have nothing in common with Van Gogh. 1 single painting of the artist on display and it was completely incongruous with the rest of the works in this gallery. There is no way this gallery can be associated with the name of the artist... they are just cashing in on his popularity. I expecting something explaining Van Gogh's time in Arles and the works he completed in this area. Nothing about that.
Here, there are only over-sized works with weird paint sloshed around on the canvas, an odd film about two guys waving their arms around, a even odder film with a crazy chipmonk-voiced woman, and a couple of "sculptures" that did not look like anything.
I am not a philistine - I enjoy art and many type of modern art too, but here, I found nothing to enjoy.... apart from the single work by Van Gogh. The roof terrace was closed during our visit. The road outside the gallery is dirty and people do not clean up after their dogs.
Overall, I do not recommend visiting here!
Photography is not allowed, so no photos to share with my review, but I would not have taken any pictures anyway, as there was nothing here I would like...

Largely I guess it comes down to whether you like the style of the artist who provides almost all the work on display. We couldn't really see much to connect his style with van Gough's so it seemed odd to go to a van Gough foundation and find so little van Gough. I'm sure they would like more, but that's not so easy. At least they did have one of his paintings on loan and it was displayed with some interesting...
Read moreThe exhibition was great, with lots to explore. And staff were nice and friendly.
However, I noticed something concerning with one staff at the gift shop. We bought two posters, magnets, and postcards, but weren't given a bag, which was fine. When I asked for one, the staff member threw it on the counter and shook his head, as if we had bothered him by asking.
I then noticed that he was much friendlier to the customers after and before us, even packing their items with a smile. In the meanwhile, we had to pack our items a few steps away from the counter where he was. This made me wonder if his behavior was a form of microaggression since we are asian and don’t speak french.
Apart from it, amazing place with...
