We went to this place to buy some "souvenirs" as we were in Marseille for one day. We arrived there 30mins before closing. The "souvenirs guy" was showing signs of impatience as he was about to close. He started telling us to hurry up being rude because the till was about to close automatically. I was with my mom who does not speak English nor French and he was yelling at her to put the money in the machine really fast as it was about to close! He tried explaining it in English but unfortunately as my French his English was really poor and I did not understand anything! he was really nervous when my french friend arrived...she ask him what was going on and he told her about the machine saying still nervously than she had to put the money in the machine quickly, first he did not announce any amount and second he showed us the wrong machine (the one on the right when we had to put the money in the one on the left)! He was so nervous and in a hurry that at the end even if he spoke in French she was confused! My friend tried explaining him that yelling at or speaking fast to a person who does not speak his language won’t make them understand and it was because of people like him that French customer service has a poor reputation! To answer my friend he said “we are in Marseille here” (well… until now she still has not understood the meaning of his answer!) when we were leaving I took a picture of the local as a nice memory of our holiday It was 17h52! (8 mins before closing I guess!). I believe that is the way they treat foreigners, as we come only once they don t need to deliver a proper service and respect people to run the business. However we went to other places and we really appreciated the sympathy of people (the market souvenir just in front of the place across the road is really nice and cheaper! you will find more options and people won’t disrespect you and lie to you ! we bought some soup and asked him if it was the one we called “Savon de Marseille” he said yes but it was not ! the guy from the small market (in front of the shop across the road) explained us the features of this soup as he was selling both of them (the original one and the other). So at the end we spent 7euros in the wrong one trusting the guy from “Richaud shop”…!!! Thank...
