Marché Réunion — Local services in Paris

This marché is the best among a handful I was able to visit while i was staying in paris for a month of august. I didn’t want to go to marche where tourists frequent. This one appears to be shopped by locals mostly. I was the only one who ne parle pas français! Fruits and veggies are good everywhere in paris, in general: you can go any marche and get quality produce. But this marche had more prepared food, including smoked fish and 20 different kinds of pickled fish (herring, I think) swimming in all sorts of herbs and spices. Lots of meat (raw, cured, and smoked) and flower shops too. And there was an italian deli that sold fully cooked pizzas and an assortment of sweets. I got each of 4-5 different sweets, and they were out of this world! And there was a bakery store that sold a best croissant amande I have ever sinked my teeth into. Soooo good. And so cheap. Only 1.80€ for this delightful croissant. I had to wonder how these farmers and bakers and fishmongers make profits. This place...

Le marché de la réunion a lieu 2 fois par semaine, le jeudi et le dimanche. Le jeudi, ne comptez pas sur le choix : très peu de vendeurs, et peu de clients, ça dépanne en semaine si vous avez la chance de pouvoir vous y rendre. En revanche le dimanche, tout le quartier vit autour de ce marché qui propose suffisamment de choix pour trouver tout ce que vous désirez : boucherie, volailler, poissonnier, produits locaux, bio, fruits et légumes plus classiques... Quand il fait beau on y traîne, on y fait des tours et détours, puis on se pose à une terrasse de café à côté. Une vraie petite vie de quartier en plein paris et un marché très très économique (pour les fruits et légumes difficile de trouver...

Le marché dominical de la Place de la Réunion, un marché de village où les gens se retrouvent, font la causette, refont le monde, s'amusent d'un rien, vont boire un coup aux terrasses des cafés installées autour de la Place. Les vendeurs de fruits et légumes se font entendre pour attirer le chaland à leur étal. Poissonniers, charcutiers, bouchers, fromagers accompagnent ce ballet gourmand. Fleuristes et boulangers agrémentent ce charmant coin de vie du 20ème...
