We booked a Eurostar package which included 2 nights stay here at Timhotel Nation. I cannot recommend this hotel at all. ||Upon check-in, we were told that our stay had been cancelled by us! We were tired, and this made us anxious as we definitely did not cancel and had paid already. After a few minutes, the young Asian male receptionist said that he found our reservation and maybe the confusion was due to the fact that we made the booking 6 months ago. I corrected him, we had made the booking 4 months ago, and he made a weird comment saying "oh yeah, it is 4 months if you count like that", there's only one way to count!!!||First, we were given a room through the garden and up the stairs, which was like a mobile home. The room was VERY DARK, tiny, the dirty carpet hadn't been vacuumed. There were faded stains on the bedding. The walls were not proper walls and paper thin, you could hear EVERYTHING next door. There was some half used body lotion in the bathroom. The heater did not work. As it was cold (January), we informed the receptionist that the heater didn't work, he asked us to wait 30 minutes and if it didn't work, he would move us. After 30 mins, the heater was still not working so we were moved to a room in the main building on the 6th floor.||The second room was slightly better. Although we were on the 6th floor, the noise from the road was so loud, it was hard to sleep. A lot of noise from the lift too and when people closed their doors, it made me jump a couple of times. We could hear people getting intimate and the TV next door. The shower was mouldy too!||On the second day, whilst we were out, our room was (half) cleaned, even though we hadn't asked for it to be, when I mentioned it to the receptionist (middle aged, male, Asian), he shrugged his shoulders and said said "it was a good thing that it was cleaned" in a rude way. I said that we hadn't put our valuables in the safe, and he just shrugged and said well people leave things out all of the time. I then asked for the iron to plan ahead for the next morning, as when I had called reception earlier that morning, to ask for one, nobody answered, despite us calling many times. The receptionist gave it to me on the condition that I brought it back down "straight away" and he repeated this 3 times within a minute which was very weird, maybe they should get a few irons?! ||The only good thing about this hotel is that there are 2 metro stops very nearby. Would not...
Read moreMy family and I had two rooms at your Nation location from 28/9 to 1/10. I have never been so disappointed and disgusted with a hotel as we were with this one. I honestly can’t think of one nice thing to say.
We had two rooms for my family of five. The rooms were incredibly dirty. There were BUG FRAGMENTS in the bed, under the covers. Bug shells and fragments in the bed of multiple bugs.
The ENTIRE SHOWER door was off the shower and in the hall of one of the rooms. Therefore, just by turning on the shower, you flooded the bathroom floor, spilling on to the already VERY Dirty carpet.
The safe in one of the rooms wouldn’t work. The toilet paper roll was hanging off the wall with the screw exposed. That same room didn’t have either night stand, but the holes in the walls from the screws were there. Curtains hanging down on one of the rooms. This is just plain terrible maintenance and these three (four including the safe) above examples would be easy to fix and really improve the image of the hotel.
There were two large stains on the "throw pillows" on the bed which just shows the lack of care in presenting the rooms that people pay for and is just GROSS to think of resting your head or that of your childrens' heads anywhere near that.
Hotel policy is nonsmoking, but the person in the room next to us was most definitely smoking. I said something to desk the next morning and they said that they were sure no one was smoking and I was smelling something from outside.
We tried to talk to desk clerk that checked us in and he was absolutely no help and didn't even seem to care. We talked to someone the next morning and they offered nothing about the shower door issue, said it couldn’t be fixed because it needed “a special person.” Another problem regarding a refund of an overcharge of city tax, we were told we could talk to a manager on Tuesday. We asked why there was no one else we could talk to or anyone that we could call to discuss some of these issues with and they simply said there was no one.
We even checked out a day early and went to another hotel in the city because we couldn't take it anymore and we all felt much better after leaving.
I am so incredibly disappointed by this hotel and most importantly the service that I will never stay in any...
Read moremediocre location. In terms of the Tim Hotel's distance to metro station, it is ok - just five to ten minutes by walk which depends on which line you are to take. However, in terms of price (I pay some 130 euro/night for a double bedroom), I don't think it is the best deal because a few hotels at the similar price are right located in prettier central area.
disappointing room facilities. Face basin, toilet and shower all have some problem with their water supplying which were rather annoying. The room is dim and smells a bit stubborn.
Simple breakfast. If you expect some proper French breakfast such as lovely croissants and fresh coffee, you may feel very offended.
Worst service from staff. The two ladies at the reception are always showing a typical air attendant's smile with no willingness to be truly friendly not alone helpful. When I sought some advice regarding online ticket / discount ticket for Museum Louvre, the lady even did not allow me to finish the question, simply saying "the computer is over there- you'd better check it on their website" with a standard smile.
When we checked out after four nights' stay, nightmare happened. Due to miscommunication between Tim Hotel's staff Ms Blanka and Ms Sharmin, I was stopped when catching up my train for some surcharge issue. Due to the discussion about this, I missed my train to The Netherlands, which is very inconvenient and very annoying because I had to pay extra for another international train. The staff refused to call her colleague for a quicker clarification, on the basis that "I can't call my colleague during the break" while insisting me to contact my colleague who assisted with my booking. Then why should my colleague be disturbed on the Sunny morning?
In summary, I would suggest to avoid staying with Tim Hotel Nation if you expect a comfortable, well-priced and pleasant...
