I wish I could give this place ZERO stars. Total red flag -AVOID !! I have never, in my 15 years in France, eaten worse viennoiserie or drunk worse coffee ( I am a coffee addict, to THROW AWAY my first coffee in the morning is just never seen..until now). This is the first time ever, I can say all we had was absolutely DISGUSTING! I threw away the croissant amande because it was OLD and tasted like a rug. The specialty " Le véritable nougat de Tours" was even older. Just "ignoble" ,as the French would say.

I wish I read the reviews first, but it was morning and for a place like this to go wrong in France is a rare thing, I couldn't expect this. Oh! maybe worth adding is that the price was out of the cosmos over 22 E for 4 viennoiserie, two coffees and two small juices - take away!

And finally to the owner, that is so aggressive to all the comments so far: instead of lecturing people on how to spell and not to criticize your fabulous products, maybe you should change both your attitude and the product, because clearly there's a problem if all your clients complain. Luckily you won't get away with this too long now that the world...

The pastry goods are good. However, the service is not pleasant. I politely introduced myself with a "bonjour" as usual in France. Then I ordered a cake in English. The person who attended to me asked, "Why don't you speak in French?" in excellent English. When I answered, "I don't speak French," he approached me unpleasantly while I chose the cakes. I know everyone does not speak English, but it was very rude. The city of Tours has a lot of good patisseries, and nothing is worth an unpleasant service. Ouf. A éviter! My sister (who does not speak French) and I (I speak fluently) made the mistake of going here for a dessert. First, I had the worst hot chocolate I’ve ever had (it is not that hard to make a decent hot chocolate! It was grainy, not sweet, and had a burnt taste). Secondly, the man who works there is simply rude. I ordered in French, but when my sister spoke some English he berated her, “WHY don’t you speak French?!”. In English, lol.
