This is a small family own restaurant The food is delicious. The service great they had the menu in English. The girls speak English. They were helpful, informative, and very professional. I had the sea bass which was excellent with some vegetables first I had the hot cheese with walnuts and maple syrup, which was just too good we also had the polenta good and the pork chop, which was good a little tough but good they came with potatoes those creamy potatoes that make you say oh my God too many calories, but you eat them anyway, I also had the chocolate cake with ice cream. The chocolate cake was not as good as I had hoped because it has that melted chocolate in the center and that’s not something I really like, but I did have some of it. it was a nice dining experience in France, I can’t really get that kind in the states. Stopping in Tours for one night on Sunday, so glad we were able to find this gem when so many of the restaurants in town were closed. We were able to make a reservation to this cozy place on a cold evening. Although not the fanciest food, it was our most memorable and enjoyable meal we had in France on our 8 day trip. That home style potato gratin side was just what I needed on a cold day. The wine was delightful. The ladies serving us were so hospitable and welcoming, attending to our every request. The accommodated a few special requests like getting a cheese plate as a main for my son. The cheese course was the best we had in France. When the bill came they found the most economical way to charge us since some of us ordered 2 courses vs 3. ...

If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to bite directly into the concept of regret, may I suggest the lamb chops at Les Canailles? They arrived at the table looking suspiciously lively — like they might still be plotting their escape.

I like my lamb pink, not bleating. These weren’t rare — they were practically reincarnated. I half expected them to start chewing me back. Imagine a culinary thriller where the lamb wins. That’s what this was.

Texture? Think jelly with ambition. Flavor? Somewhere between “vague iron” and “fridge panic.” Honestly, I’ve had better luck gnawing on IKEA furniture.
