Paris France Temple — Local services in Versailles

Absolutely beautiful temple and grounds. My daughter and I are visiting Paris and had a chance to do baptisms. Most volunteers (although very friendly) didn't speak English, but there were a couple who did and helped us. We couldn't make a reservation at this temple, but they worked us in when we arrived.

Every exterior entrance requires pressing a button for admission, including the distribution center. We got used to that after a while.

Parking was similar. There's (very clean!) parking beneath the temple with a gate. Press the button when entering the underground parking to speak with someone. They may want to see your recommend before opening the gate.

A couple of differences for people coming from the US: 1) you don't wear your street shoes when doing confirmations. Rather they provide a pair of white socks and you leave your shoes and socks in the dressing room. 2) Locker keys are not pinned to your baptism clothing. Instead, you carry them and set them on a table before being baptized and retrieve them afterwards. That's all I remember that seemed different.

Visiting this temple was definitely a highlight of my trip to Paris! The temple is small and so are the temple grounds. The temple grounds behind the temple are larger and very beautiful. Lots of fountains and small gardens. There is a visitor center and underground parking, as well as parking in the front of the temple. The staff is very friendly, as would be expected in temples, but some of them do not speak a lot of English. Keep in mind, they have a different schedule, than larger temples, so if you plan on visiting, check their times and call ahead to schedule a time/appointment. I attended a temple session all in French. Had a headset for translation. It was fun and the spirit was so strong. Met several Elders and Sisters from the states. Wonderful young men and women serving the Lord. It gave me what I have been so desperately needing for years. Peace and answers to many doubts and troubles happening in my life. Met a convert my last time through, and again, the presence of our Savior was so powerful. I was there July 2018. A personal, spiritual walk through Scotland, England, France, Italy, and Ireland.
