Kastaniengarten (Giesing) — Restaurant in Munich

A very tiny neighborhood bar with a great tiny beer garden. Since there are no direct neighbors, the beer garden usually is open until 1 a.m. which is not that common in Munich. Extra tip: call the owner and ask if he can do a barbecue for a great birthday party in summer, he'll make a good price and can host a group of people in the beer garden. Have a look at the small fish pond or the rabbits the owner keeps for his kids back...

Unbelievable. I got kicked out only because I didn’t order enough drinks. I ordered fries and coke and was sitting with my friends for several hours watching football. Unschönes Ambiente, nur Fußball + Proletenvolk. Preise sind gerade noch okay, Schweinenackensteak war zwar gut durchgebraten (jedoch habe ich ein Fleisch von Gut Aiderbichl erwischt mager war es nicht). Wenigstens war die Bedienung aufmerksam und freundlich. Die Tische waren sauber, das Besteck nicht so... Die Karte ist sehr übersichtlich. Biergartenfeeling definiert sich nicht über die Biertischgarnituren, sondern über die wirklich schattigen Plätze (große Sonnenschirme). Recht nett ist der Goldfischteich. Die Fläche hat sich in den letzten Jahren mehr als halbiert. Schade, dass der Autolärm das Ambiente beeinträchtigt. Übrigens gibt es keine Biertischgarnituren, sondern Korbsessel.
