This is an honest review of how we would rate the hotel based on a number of different factors.|We travelled as a couple from the UK from 11th Sept for a week. No children. I am vegetarian my partner is not. We arrived late, about 1am. The transfer was just over an hour due to no traffic and only a couple of drop offs prior to us. First impressions were good, lovely clean hotel. Helped to our room on the back of a golf cart. A sandwich was offered at check in but no buffet available. Fridge in room contained water, Pepsi, other pop and beer which was topped up every other day. The room was largee, air con great. Furniture outside to sit or sunbathe on. The only negative about the room was the lack of plug sockets. We had to unplug the TV just to charge phones which was frustrating. Not a major problem for us but for a family with children who want to charge phones, tablets etc this could be an issue. Please bring an extention, wish we had. Also, we had a hairdryer on the bathroom wall which wasn't great as it was fixed and not very powerful. So you couldn't dry your hair whilst the bathroom was in use. Bring own hairdryer. Room cleaned daily to a high standard. I was worried about sunbed availability after reading other reviews but we found beds all day, i imagine it would be a nightmare in July and August though. We were told that there were 1000 fewer guests the week we stayed so this is a large place. Hotel is 20 ish mins from Lindos. Costs 2 euro each on bus and approx 17 euro in taxi each way. Bus was great, approx every 20 mins with stop right outside hotel. Lots of kids despite being out of the main summer season. British guests were in the small minority, mostly German, Russian and Eastern European from what we could tell|I'll start with general positives as I dont want to put people off this hotel based on our experience. |1. Grounds beautifully maintained.large hotel with lovely gardens, grassed areas and trees. The grounds people do such a great job keeping everywhere tidy and looking great. |2. The entertainment team are great. Such a fantastic programme for adults and children. Such energy and enthusiasm. |3. Right on beach. Lovely clear water. Not a sandy beach but small pebbles. This was fine, just be gentle when walking on shore. |The not so good things for us.|1. Food. We were so disappointed with the food options. Very limited vegetarian dishes in the evening and they seemed to be all spread over the different serving areas which made them difficult to find. Also cross contamination when other guests use the same utensils to pick up food. Breakfast was limited for us. I'll add some pictures. The food seemed more aimed at Eastern European pallets, not what we would call an American Breakfast as described on the Tui website. There was a lady making small pancakes fresh, that was the only American thing we could see. We lived off crossaints every morning but they didn't seem freshly baked, more out of a packet and warmed under a hot light. Lunch was a limited mixture of meats in sauce, mostly pork. Or chicken. Always chips available| There is fresh pizza from the snack bar near the beach but this was always the same, very little variation and soon got boring. Gyros too were the same everyday. After 2 days I was dreading mealtimes as it was always the same type of food. Not enjoyable at all, just eating to cure hunger. |2. Dining areas seemed full and messy when we entered. The hotel was relatively quiet but it was still noisy with not many clean tables to sit at. You are left to find 6 table and most were either taken, dirty or not at all reset and ready for dining. We didn't know where to sit at all. At a dirty one and wait for it to be cleaned or at a bare one and wait for it to be reset. No hot drinks available in the evening with dessets that we could find which was disappointing. |3. All inclusive drinks were only local spirits which is fine but the cocktails were limited for about 6 options which you could view using a QR code. We asked for a pornstar martine one afternoon and it came in a plastic cup with Ice, a premix cocktail. No separate ingredients, it wasn't particularly nice either. Im not against a premix as a lot of places use them but it didn't taste as advertised and with ice is not anything like how it should be served. Overall a disappointing selection of drinks when its an All inclusive. Our last hotel in Cyprus had about 25 cocktail options to choose. || Overall we had a great holiday despite the negatives. I ended up spending a lot more money than planned due to eating out so for that reason I wouldn't recommend to English guests as we felt to food isn't what we would like, but everyone can make up...
Read moreWe are a 25 y/o couple and stayed at Lindos Princess Beach Resort for 7 nights in September 2019. We were looking for an all-inclusive resort where we could spend relaxing holidays with all facilities on premises so we wouldn’t even have to leave the hotel – and found exactly that at Lindos Princess.
The hotel itself is made up of a main building and big premises with bungalow-style rooms. There are three main pools as well as beautiful beach access. All infrastructure (including the rooms) is a bit dated but well-kept and very clean.
Other guests were mainly couples of all ages and families with young children (pre-school age). We never felt disturbed by kids but we were told that in July/August there are lots of children and that couples looking for a bit of quiet are advised to come before or after that period.
There are many activities on the hotel premises so it’s never boring. We enjoyed the pools, the minigolf and many animation activities. The animation team is wonderful! Very friendly, fun, but also respectful if you don’t want to participate. We especially enjoyed the sports (achery, waterpolo, …) and fitness (yoga, aquagym, …) activities as well as the evening shows!
The food at the buffets is always fresh and tastes good, not amazing, but good value for money. The food variety is good (we were actually surprised by this); there are different dishes every day with a few permanent basics. There is also a snack bar, opened all day, where you can get gyros, fries, pizza and ice cream. We would have liked to have all-day access to some fruit too! At the bars you can get some simple cocktails, juices and soft drinks. The choices here were limited but okay.
I follow a vegan diet and told the hotel about this a few weeks before our holiday. Their response was very kind and courteous, saying it would be no problem and that I would receive advice etc. At check-in, we were welcomed by guest relations and it was explained to us what options on the buffet would be vegan and that I could always ask the restaurant staff if I had questions or needed anything. At first, this proved to be a bit difficult as the staff didn’t seem to be informed and couldn’t answer questions about ingredients of the dishes etc. Also, the food is not always clearly labeled. Another example: I was told by guest relations that a pizza without cheese could be prepared for me at the snack bar, but when I asked the snack bar staff they said they couldn’t. In short, there seemed to be some misunderstandings but after another talk with guest relations this improved tremendously, and I couldn’t have asked for better service! The sous-chef of the main restaurant personally walked me through the buffet and had a delicious vegan dessert prepared just for me every day! Our dinner at the à la carte restaurant was another highlight, where a most delicious and very creative 4-course-meal was served for me. The sous-chefs at this restaurant and at the main restaurant were very helpful and seemed very enthusiastic about helping me put together delicious vegan meals. Thank you very much!
As a recommendation for the hotel we would suggest labeling the food more clearly – there were labels but they didn’t indicate whether there was meat, cheese etc. in the dish. The meat was not always visible! It would be helpful to use symbols on the labels (vegetarian, vegan, lactose-free, gluten-free, etc.). Also, I would have preferred if there were more vegan options available as part of the buffet/menu that everybody would have access to – not just vegans who specifically ask for these options. While I appreciated it a lot, I would rather not have to ask for special treatment. Many of the dishes prepared at the restaurant could already be prepared vegan-friendly without much effort (e.g. use margarine in pastries, prepare bean stews, get creative with tofu…).
Overall we had a fantastic stay at the Lindos Princess Beach Resort and would highly recommend it...
Read moreMy wife, our four year old son and I have stayed for 2 weeks in this hotel in July and have had one of the best holidays of our lives. The resort has so much to offer to keep the kids and adults entertained and satisfied. Below is a lengthy review, broken down in categories, as I could not describe our wonderful experience in merely a few sentences.
Food and drinks: The restaurant offers high-quality food with a good amount of variety. Each day the main restaurant has its own theme for dinner, including Asian, Mexican and Greek. Food options each day include the typical options for picky eaters, like French fries and pastas, but also some great choices for those wanting to venture into more authentic cuisines. For example, the rabbit stifado during the Greek themed day was absolutely fantastic! As always, children are given special attention in the form of a little kids buffet with options like pasta, chicken nuggets and some neutral tasting veggies (which our son unfortunately always skipped). The restaurant was big enough to ensure that we would quickly be given a seat. However, at the buffet itself it could get rather crowdy at times. Fortunately, the guests all behaved politely, such that there never were any issues with people skipping lines, pushing or otherwise. On the beach side is a street food corner with fantastic freshly made snacks and treats, such as hand-made pizzas, pita gyros, as well as slushies and soft serve ice creams! The all-inclusive cocktails were not great, as they are all based on overly sweet syrups which is typical for resort within this segment. However, the mojitos were delicious and they also offer included liquors like an Irish cream which became our go-to evening drinks.
Facilities: The room we stayed in was spacious and modern, with a beautiful terrace and excellent location near the kids pool. There are numerous large pools that cater to all ages, including a pool with small slides for the little ones and one with larger ones for the bigger ones. In the main pool, there was always good music and fun activities going on, such as water polo, aqua gym or a daily cocktail game. Attached to the resort is a semi-private beach with plenty of free sunbeds to lie on. The beach is close to the bar, so one can enjoy all the all-inclusive beverages with their toes dug deep into the Greek sand. The sea was very warm and the waves were tiny, offering a great and safe environment for children to enjoy themselves in the water.
Animation: The young animation team was fantastic. Each member was extremely friendly, energetic and behaved professionally. They organized daily activities with great enthusiasm and always managed to get high participation rates and excited participants. In the evening, they organize fun mini-discos with creative games for children and afterwards is an evening show with fun costumes and impressive dance choreographies. Simply amazing!
Staff: Perhaps this is where the hotel excelled the most. The staff was very attentive and friendly, beyond our expectations. In the restaurant, we were always greeted at the door with a warm smile to us and many high fives hugs to our son by Christiana. She made us instantly feel welcome. The restaurant manager Michailis made sure that all our needs were attended to, and occasionally went outside the standard arrangement to provide us with an extra special and memorable experience. At the cocktail bar, Kostas was always in for a laugh together and managed to feel like a friend over the short time that we stayed here. He even indulged us with some “Kostas special” cocktails which I thoroughly enjoyed. Alex from the animation team was an absolute pleasure to hang out with. He has a very strong tennis background and was kind enough to play some games with us over the course of several days. These sessions have greatly improved our tennis level and inspired us to pick up the sport further back home. Many thanks, Alex,...
